Moose shot at 1100 yards

EE, and here I though that you gracefully faded into oblivion... no such luck, eh??

Well think about it... you are about as useful as the other Troll.

you want to call BS... post up... anyone can sit back and say no way, nohow, not possible.

trolls... either offer proof of your accusations or do what we hoped EE did --> fade into oblivion!

Oh... wait... I already know your retort:

"Sniper: you're full of BS!"

now you don't have to reply... you can make your bedtime before mommy gets upset!

sweet dreams children!

My mother died at age 61 in 1987, so you can do some math on that one and see that you are hardly talking to a youth here. The car flip is believeable, the shooting claims you made are NOT!! Eagleye.

I started going back to try and find what sniperT had said, but quickly came to understand he is utterly and completely full of sh1t before I even found the posts, called off the search at one page back.

This got messy. I can't believe there's this much to argue, a guy hit a moose where he didn't intend to, and even if you asked him before the shot if he knew he'd hit the vitals I'd bet anything he'd say no. It was a pot shot, he hit the spine, clearly not where intended, and few of us here endorse those kind of shots. The distance certainly wasn't helping his case.

Here, I found it for you. This is the good one :D

To sum it up:

7 of 8 hits, in the kill zone, from a drifting boat on a walking moose at 968 yards with a 22 magnum, dead moose

f:P:

A few of us were fishing a remote lake when another boat came up near us. There were two native fellows in it, and they started calling for moose (late fall, but before any 'season') we chatted for a bit, then one hauls up his 'rifle' and bangs off eight shots in rapid succession. watching where he was shooting we watched in awe as a 2-3 year old bull turned and walked up towards the bush from the water. it dropped dead within 20' from where he first hit it. We marked the spot, and went to help them. With a lever .22 Magnum with a 2x scope, he landed 7 of the 8 shots in the area of a pie plate across the chest (lungs/heart). At the time I guessed it to be 1000 yards, and actually paced it off later after the ice was on, and it was 968 yards.

Now, 7 of 8 hits, in the kill zone, from a drifting boat on a walking moose. hmm. I may not like the fact that he did that (jealousy); but I certainly have to admire his skill. when I asked him why he didn't use a rifle, he pulled out an old .30-06 and said they don't use it except for long shots.

My jaw hit my chest!

trajectory... I have no clue... I was in a boat beside them... I wasn't watching where he aimed... I was watching the moose. (as per previous post)

And thanks for that share... I really don't care to know how wide you can open your throat to down a beer... or whatever... congrats to you! I really don't see how that is relevent. Thanks for sharing though!

you wanted me to share so I did...:D
Better than making up some bull#### story about golfballs at 2 miles with a 17 ackley hornet...

sniper please explain how 6lbs of energy from a .22 magnum at 900 some odd yard can penetrate to the vitals of a moose? that should clear up who's bsing who. I know a .22 cal air rifle with 5 lbs can not even penetrate a pair of denim jeans, so please please explain how that mighty .22 "magnum" penetrated 13-16 inches of hair, flesh, muscle and fat at nearly 1000 yards. never mind the accuracy that may have well been a hip shot fired at passing aircraft.
Either this tale was meant to amuse its readers or you yourself are a troll. At that range even 308 is performing on a questionable level.

lol

you, sir, are a serious joke!

hip fired? what have you been reading?

seriously!!! you are that confident in your claims... lets hook up... you stand at a 1000 yards wearing jeans... and I'll shoot with my .22 mag. might take me a while to get in on you... I never claimed I could do it... but you just stand there... and lets see what happens!

Sniper-T is a classic example of the guy who, when thought a fool, couldn't leave it at that, but had to open his mouth [Or hit the keyboard] and promptly remove all doubt! l The absolute laughing-stock of this thread. EE

sniper I said MIGHT AS WELL BEEN A HIP SHOT, and here you go sealhunter its actually about TWO HUNDRED NINETY TWO FEET of drop, or THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED FOUR INCHES of drop. THAT MY FRIEND IS A SERIOUS JOKE. Im sorry but looking through the scope and seeing clouds is pretty much the same as shooting from the hip while spinning on a merry go round blindfolded. The only thing measured in hundreds of inches is drift at only 2mph of crosswind. OWNED lol. an impact velocity of 243fps and 6lbs of energy, 7 of 8 rounds conecting and hitting the vitals. lol. ok so when did dave chapell start posting on cgn?

In Ontario it's illegal to shoot from a boat.

it's obvious that you ladies are a tight group... but you know what... not one of you has posted anything like the op has. it's all just blah blah, blah.

OP: Again! Good on ya dude... NIce freakin shot!

the rest of you... go away! I hear there is a thread with some boobies on it... go entertain yourselves.

I think snipers a politician because hes doing a great job dodging the question of how that little magical .22 magnum carried the energy to penetrate to the mooses vitals. So lets pretend anyone one earth could put 7 rounds into its chest from a boat while aiming almost a football field over, I mean it lets pretend that happened. Its not absolutely impossible so Ill give him that allowance, but please tell me how 7 of that natives .40ish grain bullets were able to completely violate the laws of physics.

I am convinced he posted that as a sociological experiment to see how people react to such absurd claims.

Be sure to post the Video of the shot GateHouse, not matter where you hit it, we will all aplaud you and say that was a hell of a shot
