Hello hunters, this was the first weekend of moose hunting in zone 1 where I live and after only an hour waiting in the tree stand I got a shot at a 3 year old buck at 125 feet
I aimed with my 30-06 165gr TSX ammo and missed three times!! I was aiming behind the leg at about 3 inches from the bottom (first moose hunting ever and was sure it was the place to aim).
So basically after finding the moose run away and finding absolutely no blood/hair nothing I had to accept that I totally missed a huge target
while when sighting the rifle I shot at 5/8 from 300 feet.
Now my question is how did I miss ?? My 06 is set for 600 feet bullseye and so I aimed a bit low and expected the bullet to go a few inchers higher not lower..
I shot from about 30 feet from ground level where the moose was, could it have made the difference ?
Please help, I am off hunting today bt will go for the rest of the week to finish what I started.
