I think the only reason lots of people are watching this thread is so they can crap all over what deal comes out. "I don't like this deal. It doesn't fit my needs. Why would you deactivate a gun almost no one can own otherwise? What a waste. Why does shipping cost money? Why don't you import m1's and sell them for $99? Guns make me uncomfortable. Marstar is lowering my quality of life."
If you can do better, please do. If you don't want a surplus russian gun, don't get one.
I may be in the minority, but I found this whole sequence of events quite interesting. Kind of a peek behind the curtain.

If the deal is as good as it's claimed to be, how could anyone complain about it? Sure, it might not appeal to everyone but that could be said about anything in life. No doubt it'll be a success despite not appealing to every single gun owner. You simply cannot please everyone. Marstar obviously knows this.
 
I doubt ill even buy anything, money is tight right now. I wish i could haha!

However i really enjoyed this build up and excitement. Ive been stuck at home on the couch sick as a dog so this was fun to follow. Feels kinda like christmas! Wondering what it might be in that box.

I beg to differ, at one time we imported container loads of "mint" un-issued SVTs.... I still have one in my collection....

john will we be able to buy a deac ak-47 alone and not in a combo? i really want a deactivated AK 47 and not sure if i can afford a combo to get one or not ill see when the combos come out.

Once the deal comes out put up a WTB ad on the EE. I'm sure that more than one person that buys the combo deal is going to want to off the dewat AK74.

Yes it would be nice but a dewat AK doesn't mean anything for me and a functioning one is a prohib. so thanks but no thanks.

I know some of us may be interested in a dewat AK but not me. I want items I can enjoy not hang on the wall.
