Yup. Was in Wholesale Sports North Edmonton today and they just recieved another shipment of powder today. This time it was all Hodgdon, IMR and black powder stuff. Small quantities of each, but alot of assortment. And they still have a bunch of Alliant stuff too. But sold out of RL 17,19,22 and 25.
Some Stuff i've not seen in a very longggg time from Hodgdon and IMR. 👍👍

I managed to score 2 lbs of Varget and 2 of H4350 in Prince George today. Still a bunch of Hodgdon and IMR powder left

Just a note, as with everything else, its gone up in price. Bought lb of varget and h4350, $51.99 each. Poor dollar is really starting to show its ugly face, but at least its available. Also told another large shipment is inbound of aliant as well, WSS YEG.

That's not the dollar. The math doesn't add up.

I'm done buying powders. The fact that it's showing up and staying on shelves for awhile is a good thing. If they remain there the price will start coming back down.

For reference, Varget used to be about 28-32$ last when the dollar was poor (2010ish). No reason it should be 51$ now. It's the product of the US buyout and Canadian jumping on board due to limited supply.

Paying $50. for a pound of powder is unacceptable. We all like to shoot I agree but there has to be a limit. The manufactures are not in the powder business anymore but rather in the powder shortage business. Although I have noticed before on the brink of a new election in the US powders and other reloading components get very scarce.

As someone who just started reloading a couple months ago, it kind of makes me sour to hear that prices used to be so much cheaper so recently. I've been buying IMR4895 and Benchmark for both near $50/lb the whole time I've been reloading. And have no where local to shop so I'm paying shipping on top on of it

A retailer just had some last week for 40$/lb. Which goes to show this is just new mark-up on a product that's guaranteed to sell.

If you have it, stop buying it. We need to show that the market is saturated here and these prices can't become the new norm.

I've seen the same with certain projectiles. 69$/box? I bought two yesterday for 55$/box. 14$ isn't the end of the world, but I'll support those with fair pricing.

Since this thread has morphed into more than just WSS powder availability, I will add my 2c. I can't comment on Alliant powders as we have not been shipped any in a long time (WSS might have found a supplier outside the normal chain of supply and hence the higher prices). Our prices vary from the high $30 range to the $40 range. The less expensive powder is of course the less popular types and is left over from before the recent increases. Our markup is the same as it has always been so the large increase has occurred before it reached our shelves. I am not trying to solicit business with this post as we do not ship powder and our local customers are already aware of our prices. For anyone thinking of getting out of reloading due to high powder and component pricing...loaded ammo is still hard to come by in some makes and styles and when it does arrive the prices are matching the increases we see on powder and components. Phil.
