More SKS trouble ! GRRR

Once again, can't even count all the "Allah hu Akbars". I'm sure the other side is doing the same. What incredible stupidity yet again:
1. Over 50% of what they say is "God is great".
2. They can't keep an SKS running reliably. ITS AN SKS FOR CHRIST'S SAKE! They make AK's look finicky!
3. Their optics setup is so bad they have to load from the BOTTOM.

While we're on this topic, I just ordered a Promag side mount for my SKS. Anyone else have experience with these?

I installed one about 2 weeks ago on my 53 Refurb. Easy to do if you have a drill press and the right bit and tap set. I ordered from Cabelas and it was in the store here in town in about 4 days. If you read over the sticky about mounting a Choate in the sticky's it will pretty much tell you everything you need to know!

I didn't say they were stupid, but what they are doing sure is. But I don't really care what you think. Being offended doesn't make you right. Show me a link to 2 videos from this conflict that aren't exactly thew same and I'll take my previous comment back. I think its sad that these people's religion seems to hinder them in everything they do.

I agree totally. And they're not the only ones around the world...

I don't think you were being a 'bigot" at all. Mumbling over and over that "God is great!" is absurd in ANY culture, even our own, IMO...
I think there's been a misunderstanding, that's all.

there is one by ncstar that needs the front tips filed down for a nice tight fit and it has 3 rails and not only held in by the pin but 4 set screws on the sides, plus can still use the iron sights 40 bucks not a bad deal. plus might just put a red dot scope on it for fun.

There are ways to make the read cover rock solid, removable for cleaning and still hold a zero,,, but this requires cutting, drilling, tapping and if your going to do that you might as well go for the choate side mount. If your not comfortable or don't have the tools then the next best set up is the BC Scout mount.
