I've read a few threads about Wholesale Sports having both crappy and fine service in the last little while. Here's my story.

I went there this past week to get some info / supplies on shotgun reloading (my newest hobby) and without hesitation, the ####### behind the counter tried to talk me out of it.What a ####head.

I'm reloading for all sorts of reason from a pastime with my boys to cheap ammo etc.... but he never asked.

Seems to me he should have be tying himself in knots to sell me what I needed.

That's it for me for them. My money goes to P & D for the rifle reloading and anyone else for shot gun stuff.

A letter to the manager might help.

I have had good and bad at wholesale (more good service than bad)
It all depends who you deal with most folks there (stoon) are great bar for two ####-heads who need not be mentioned

You get that type of thing in retail from the guys who are master experts of everything...

When I went to WSS to buy my first big game (and first centrefire) rifle, I told the guy that, and that I wanted to hunt deer and probably elk.

He tried to sell me a 300 RUM...

Greeeaaat advice for a first timer.

Mumps, in all truth he was probably giving you good advice... you can buy most any type of shotshell (by the flat) at least as cheap as you can reload them.
He could have made a lot more money on you by selling you reloading supplies... and for that he is definitely a dumbass.

No arguements there Red, I bought a flat of 2 3/4 BB's pretty cheap two months ago.

If he didn't have the personality of a festered fart I might have pursued the reloading with him further.

Too much competition for me to go to for Wholesale to be acting like that.

Who knows, maybe he was having a bad day.............

Too bad I drove seven hours to get there....................

Ah well, SIR and Russells catalogues are in the throne room, time to put them on top. Now I have a more practical use for the Wholesale pages:cool:

I guess with cheap prices comes cheap service? I'll order from them just cause there so cheap. :D

You will get screwed because you might of been able to save 1.99 on a item that you could of got at Russell's and the truth is, some things are cheaper at Russell's and vice versa.

Now I know Russell's makes mistakes too and they have a couple of times for me but they bend over backwards to fix the problem and even do a little extra to keep you as their customer. That goes a long way for me. Wholesale will screw an order up, pass the buck to the shipper, give you a number to call and wash their hands of it. When you are tired of driving out of camp everyday to see if the shipper has tracked down your binos you need for that trip and call WS, WS then passes the buck on to you when you demand they do something about it. When you tell them that you are not happy with their customer service and are considering going to Russell's, they say go right ahead!

#######s. They don't give a #### and you can't paint all the mail orders with the same brush. I have experience with all of them. WS are a bunch of maggots.

Come on Booner, Tell us what you really think!

I just got an order from WS & they over charged me on some X bullets,$7 on each box (x2) compared to the book price.I called & told them to give me a credit as I will be ordering again soon for my New to me Ruger 260. The girl said she would make sure I got the credit. DAN>>>:D

Often the catalog price is outdated...especially when the catalog is three years old :D

Sure am glad I don't work there anymore. You guys are hard to please.

Prices should be going down. Back when I was still dealing with them, I got a cheque from Russell's for a couple of bucks on all my orders. I asked them if my math was real bad and their explanation was that the Canadian $ was getting strong so the prices were dropping. WS continued to rip everyone off. People on CGN were bringing this up, not me. I noticed the greed though.

He does every single time Wholesale is mentioned....

Why be inconsistant?:D

Really though, whats the little guy's options when big companies screw you around like you are insignificant? They will hardly miss 1 customer. Whats on our side is that we all are a community and the internet has been a great media. Their attitude screws themselves in the end.

I think Wholesale would be a great company if they took a serious look at their management. It's a trickle down effect. Poor attitude in management results in poor customer service department, right down to the dumb ##### on the switchboard that doesn't know the difference between a rifle and a toilet plunger, and also has a poor attitude.

This is exactly it. I shop at both the Clagary and Edmonton stores regularly. They both have an attitude problem. (I think Edmonton is worse) I can clearly see it stems from the management. Employee attitude problems can almost always be traced back to the management. This is especaly true when there is a wide spread problem through out the company, not just a few individuals.

I went down to the Lethbridge WholeSale just after it opened. There was a very great attitude there. I was looking for a lefty 375H&H Winchester. They did not have one but took my name just incase they got one. I gave my name but did not actualy expect a call, considering I had ordered and payed for rifles on 3 different occasions from the Edmonton store that never showed up (the guns were in stock in Calgary, but they did not even bother to send them up to Edmonton store even though they were payed for)
4 moths later I get a call saying they got in the rifle I was looking for If I wanted to come down and take a look at it. I could not belive it. I had not ordered it or anything just given my phone # just incase they stumbled accross one. To bad I had just bought a 416 at Russels.

I want to go back to the Lethbrige store just to see how bad the attitude has gone down hill. It is my guess that it will end up as bad as the rest in time.

If you are hoping to get good instore service from Russell's Sports don't hold your breath, I've had just as bad a service from them as from Wholsale Sports and SIR can be poor as well. I've come to the conslusion that pretty much ALL of these larger sporting goods stores have hit or miss service, depends on who you deal with there, most have both good sales staff AND a$$holes. In my experience their service all rate about the same for me, good once in a while and poor more often than not. I just shop for the lowest price because NONE of them really care.

I had good service at wholesale the other day, ordered some stuff from calgary and they phoned when it was in.I was waiting for brass from the back when I noticed the scope salesperson showing a couple of young guys a bushnell with the firefly reticle, holding it up to the light and yapping about it.One asked what moa was and the salesperson says that he doesn't get that technical into the intricasies of optics and did not know...I thought about saying something but I think I was in shock that he didnt know the answer.
