More WSS Funnies

Had a fellow come in one day asking for 308 bullets, I asked him if he needed 308 ammo or bullets for reloading.
He tells me his buddy is going to reload to save him some money so I gave him a box of "bullets"
Of course he went straight to the range with his bullets, places 5, one behind the other on top of his clip.....just bulllets, no case, no primer, no powder.
Put's the clip into his BLR.
Works his lever and tries to fire.....of course nothing happens...tries again....no bang????
So he calls the range officer over and asks if he could help.
Ken the range officer thought he was being setup for a practical joke

Naturally he blamed me for not knowing what he needed????

I recently went into a local gun shop (military place) hint, in Edmonton, to buy some 32 special for my Winchester Wrangler. The clerk, who has been there forever, told me "good luck. they haven't made that ammo for about 50yrs." I told him the rifle was a 32 special and it was made in the 1990's and he said "Bullsh*t. they havent made that calibre since just after WWII."

I told him the 32 special was almost like a 30-30 and he told me I better get educated on guns and calibres. So I left and went to Canadian Tire and bought two boxes of "real hard to find ammo" for $21.35 per box.........

I guess I need more education on rifles and ammo guys......help.!

Randy, your paining yourself for nothing. I wouldn't walk across the street to go into that glorified garage sale known as Milarms. I have bought .32 Special ammo at Canadiantire stores in Fort Mac, SherwoodPark, Hinton and Whitecourt.

I have always been very opinionated of the service i get at Wholesale in Edmonton and there is one dude there that deserves props. Jason has helped me out twice there in the last month and he is very good. This summer has been kind of a gun store splurge as we have been into P&D and Wholsesale once a week since the first week of July. Both places have been very good to me.

Funny how the biggest critics are those who probably have never done face to face customer service, and probably wouldn't do that sort of work anyways.

It's a hard job on many fronts............. Hard for the employer to find, and keep knowledgeable staff and at the same time maintain profitability. From the employee's spot, it's quite hard to deal with the public who either knows everything or absolutely nothing or a combination of both.

I serious doubt that most of use would shop at a store that pays & keeps it's knowledgeable/experienced employees with high wages with full benefits, given the very high prices that would be passed on to the consumer to support those employees. It's a balance, but we want our stuff for the cheeeepest we can get it.

SC, it isn't the lack of knowledge on the part of the salespeople that irritate me, it's the attitude that some display. Case in point, one of the clerks at Russel's is a young guy who admits to not being a "know it all", but he is pleasant to deal with, will ask one of the "know it all's" if he doesn't have the answer. Another guy there, I call him the "bearded pompous fart" surely does have more knowledge than the kid, but he makes sure everyone knows it and acts like his #### doesn't stink. I did call the manager and explain the stituation that had occured to get my hackles up. He graciously apologized and offered to help me out if I saught his help personaly (of course, I was looking to buy a rifle). I was sure to tell him not only of my displeasure with bearded pompous fart, but also how the young guy had tried his best to keep my business. The wages that you earn shouldn't have a bearing on how you treat customers or other people for that matter, whether you works at Timmie's, McDonald's or FasGas.

Exactly! Too bad customer service just aint what it used to be :(

I guess trying to justify poor customer service is an easy way to deal with it for some people

Absolutely no excuse for poor customer service……but in anything in life you get what you pay for.

If customer service is what you want then go to a smaller local gun shop that is independently owned and operated where the owner is the guy behind the counter and pay a bit for your supplies.

You can not seriously expect to get the same level of customer service from a kid working at a minimum wage at a job who is only there until something better comes along.
