Ok, so my dad got this mosin nagant given to him, and he wants to clean it up and take it to the range, but we can't find a caliber marking anywhere on it. We even took off the stock and looked at the bottom of the barrel but there are no markings for caliber, all we can find is the date (1943) and few other numbers/letters.
Were they all the same caliber during WWII?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just don't know much about them.
