Picked up my first rifle last week. A Mosin Nagant all covered in cosmiline. I cleaned it up, got some surplus ammo stamped 60/75 and took it to the range.
It was a blast to shoot. So far since I got my Pal in the new year I have been shooting a .22 and 9mm handgun. This was quite different. I only shot it from a rested position. At 25 yards it was a little high to the right, I took it out to 100 yards and got all 5 shots on a 8.5x11 piece of paper. I was aiming towards the bottom left of the paper.
Anyways, after 20 shots my shoulder was feeling the beating from the steel butt plate. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy shooting the rifle as much as my handguns, but I can't wait to get it out again. I love working the action.
Any tips or info for a noobie with a new mosin?
