If you are looking for quality thePolish M-44s can not be beat. They are a bargain.

They're certainly beautiful rifles. IMO, the best fit and finish you'll ever see on a M44 is from Radom.

hot hot hot. I've been 'nam, a lot of respect for the endurance of the people...

Oh yeah, buy a mosin! Finn ones are nice and available for reasonable prices considering what yer getting...

I asked the same question. The CGN-ers recommended the 91-30. I listened and now I have a 91-30 that shoots much better than I can. I tried some regular ammo... not bad.....Some reloads.... even better. I then tried some special ammo;) fisrt group.... 1/2 MOA. :dancingbanana:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do hear from someone in the States saying that some late production of M44 has chrome-lined bore. Also my M44's muzzle shows the chrome too.

My 1954 Polish M-44 has a chrome bore.

Same as Chinese M44. But some people were saying that the Soviet had never made any chrome-lined bore. However mine is 1948 Russian M44, and I think the bore is chromed.

OK - now I'm tearing my hair out!!!

The Russians chrome lined rifles for the FIRST TIME in the 1950's, mid-way through SKS production. They NEVER - yes, that's right, NEVER chrome lined ANY Mosin Nagants.

If you think your Soviet Mosin has a chromed bore, then either you don;t have a Soviet Mosin or the bore is just nice and unpitted. If you see white at the muzzle, it's been polished. It's NOT CHROME.

Is that so hard to understand???

PS: If you don't believe me, put some cold blue on a q-tip and touch it to the muzzle "chrome". It will turn black. Real chrome doesn't blue ;)
