Also the top of the hammer that rides along the bottom of the action is to tall, causing excess upward pressure on the action as it cycles. It only needs enough material to engage the sear and that's it, I've filed down my hammer to elevate some of that pressure result in s smoother cycling action.

I now use a Carlson thumb lever as a speed bump for the leading edge of the action to use to engage the sear and then it rides freely without the excess material of the hammer pushing upward on the action.

I bought a 2021 manufacture one - the deluxe model.
I called Mossberg to confirm manufacture date she said they did a whole slew of updates to these rifles during Covid.
I have 4 Model 94s and 2 336s. I bought so I didn't beat up my safe queens.
This outshoots them all.
I bought for tough bush slogging while deer hunting and it's been a fine gun.
No issues at all. Very smooth cycling.
If you buy one try to find one after 2020 manufacture date. They are different
Loves the 170gr Federals. 1Moa with scope.
