Mossberg 930 Tactical

hmm... newb question... so 6 in the mag in a semi auto non restricted shotgun with one in the chamber allready is legal? i thought that it was 5, or is it a shotgun regulation? pretty sure that all the benelli m4's are 5+1, wheather they are the restricted or non restricted models

mobgma has it right. The mag capacity limit is for the largest shell the gun is chambered for. if you can only get 5 rounds of 3" in, but 6 rounds of 2.75" fit that is legal.

Sorry IDPACONVERT, but when I read you got a roadblocker, I instantly thought of this image:

But noone can claim to be a larger Chairborne Ranger than me!!!

This is what a 930 roadblocker looks like:

Picked up a 930 Home Security today. I was surprised to find that the front bead is pretty easy to pick up, though I also love the ghost rings on the 590A1. We'll see out on the range, I guess.

Over 250 rounds through the 930 SP Roadblocker today, 200+ rounds of various shot shells from the cheap Winchester Target loads, to the Hi-speed hunting loads, 25 rds slugs, 25 rds 00 Buck.
I am very happy with the results, not a single malfunction of any kind;), and the Slugs were pretty accurate too:D

Hmm I thought this was 5+1, I can only get 4+1 @ 2 3/4" (plus 1 ghosted) in mine...

It does cycle 1 1/8 oz #8 shot just fine. And 00 buck. And slugs, which were a little more tornque-y on the shoulder than I expected.

Bump for awesomeness. The lone gold bead up front on the Home Security model is NO PROBLEM for quick target acquisition (as in, for 3-gun). I find myself tending to shoot about 2" high, no problem I aim 2" low :) It handles and points extremely well. Cycles light target loads (7 1/2 1 1/8oz) without fail.

Shot my 930 Tactical for the first time today. It cycled Federal 1 oz trap loads perfectly, but just barely. They kinda limped out of the ejection port. Cheap Wally-world Winchester wouldn't work consistently.

Anything heavier worked like a charm. High-brass #5 shot ejected about 15 ft. I'll try and find some 1 1/8 oz target loads and see how they work.

Mine also shoots high, about the same as yours.

Federal Field and Target 1 1/8 oz loads worked very well. Good, positive ejection and operation.

I need to shoot the 1 oz loads more before I can give thumbs up or down on them.

Shot an IDPA match today with a shotgun side match. I used my 930 HS with the +1 mag tube extension and the gun ran 100%. I did not not miss one steel target out of 20 shots required.

Very pleased with the performance of the gun and the S&J extension.

What ammo were you using?
