Hi folks:

Anybody out there familiar with who may stock Mossberg parts? Specifically a M500 trigger group?

Thank in advance,

Buff

Hi again:

I had tried Grech, but they won't ship trigger groups. They insist on having the shotgun mailed to their shop so that they can install it...........
Brownell's it is.

Thanks for your responses,

Lead:

The cross pin holding the slide lock and hammer was bent. I can't figure out how that would happen....... especially it appears to have happened inside of the first 20 rds of this guns life. It seems to me that the whole plastic group may be compromised. I don't really trust a new pin alone and figured I may as well just replace the whole assembly.

Just ship them the receiver and let them install.

Why waste your money shipping a gun ? This is why I purchased my Metal Mossberg trigger group from Brownells.

Canadian repair centers trying to suck more money out of gun enthusiast instead of helping them.... And Brownells is way cheaper.... lol...

Same goes for Savage parts, They will sell some parts to registered gunsmith only. But you can buy them from brownells directly and bypass all the bullcrap of dealing with greedy repair centers.

I phoned Grech for a problem I had some time ago and was not impressed with the answers I got.

Some time later I happened to be in the area and took my 930 in personally, my opinions of their service changed drastically!
The guys there went out of their way to help me and actually repaired the gun on the spot and even test-fired it.
Was very happy with their service and would highly recommend them.

Blargon / Dilligaf /Yorgi:

I'm going to phone again, because I hope I misunderstood. But I took away from a phone conversation that they required the WHOLE gun to put in a trigger group.......

Dilligaf has a good point: One can purchase a metal version for the cost of shipping. If I could drive there, I'm certain any 'individual' gun enthusiast at Grech would understand that requiring a the whole gun to replace the trigger assembly is not reasonable. To claim indemnification related to civil law reasons is equally unreasonable. But...... it sounds like that is a Grech policy. Will know for sure tomorrow.

Hi:

I hadn't misunderstood Grech Outdoors. "Liability" is the reason they gave for a firearms owner not being permitted to exchange the trigger group on a Mossberg 500.

You will likely have too fill out all kinds of crappy paperwork to order any gun part in from brownels to Canada. Unless they don't call it a gun part on the customs docs?.

Wow someone has no clue on how Brownells works.... No need to spew out misinformation like that....

Sorry dude that was the issue I ran into a few yrs ago trying to ship a slide for my shotgun into Ontario to my home address? Sorry if I have miss informed. I had to end up getting ripped off by an unnamed shooting centre near me.
