Mossberg Tactical .22 FLAT TOP!!!!!

Hi All,
Well I just got the word today, NO Flattops in Canada unless Mossberg does some changes. New export rules from that bastard they call president, nothing with a threaded barrel leaves the states and as the Flat-top has threads for the flash suppressor they will not allow them out of the country, what a freaking JOKE!!!!!!! If I hear anything more I will let you know.

They're not allowed to export out?? Weird....usually it is the RCMP being the hard cases making it difficult importing things in :(

What a bunch of dummies. Why not just make a batch of unthreaded barrel rifles? they already have them, as they use them for the regular 702 plinksters...

elimsprint, where did you get this info from? do you have a link to these new export rules?

I suspect there is more to this then these alleged new export laws (who's existence I wasn't even able to verify online), as the flat top tactical .22s are not even listed on the mossberg website anymore.

Take a look at Wanstall bringing in the TacSol stuff, no threaded barrels ht tp://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=589288&highlight=tactical+solutions starting at post 33

No, I was given the info from a very reliable source though (the same person who told me about them in the first place). See my post above, another company with the same problem.
They are trying to get Mossberg to run some with the plain barelled actions, only time will tell if they will though.

Again, these flat tops are not even on the mossberg website anymore....So i really don't think its only a threaded barrel issue.

Saying your source is very reliable doesn't do anything for me if you can't name it...

The threaded barrel was the reason the 500+ guns that were at the border a month ago didn't get through. I will get the whole story when my "source" gets back from the SHOT show.

They have about 12 of them on the rack at the Cabelas Edmonton store if anyone is interested. Probably have a ton more in the back. As for the gun, they have the carry handle version in stock but still no flattop yet. Still not listed on the Mossberg website either. Strange.

What is North Sylva web site and where does it say they are getting a shippment of flat tops?
Something isn't right when big box stores can't get product but little stores can.
I'm guessing they are getting mags and carry handle versions in. I'm at the point of really considering chopping mine. The 5" optics height it a pain! No cheek weild.

They had them at shot show 2012 so that means they gotta be making them right?

Doesn't mean they'll make it into Canada. Those barrels are threaded, and consequently cannot be exported here due to US export laws. They'd have to make a run of them with unthreaded barrels before we can even hope to see them on our shelves.

Wow i was worried about cutting mine up to make it look like the more m4 like flat top (but i like the handle so i kept that) my handguard looks just like theirs, so i am now glad i didnt wait as it looks like it will be quite a wait! plus i saved some money by not paying the inflated price for what will now be classed as a rarer version, just watch the prices rise on it whn and if it arrives!
