Mossberg Tactical .22 FLAT TOP!!!!!

" These are now in stock at cabelas dot ca "

" i just checked and it said backordered.. "

Holy crap they sold out fast. They were in stock for less than a day. I wonder how many they had.

We have a dozen on order, just waiting for them to arrive...not sure on the expected date.

Hey everyone, I got my mossberg tactical .22, and it fires great. It's easy to load with the speed loader, and very accurate. It also looks incredibly mean - my kids love it! So, the first time we had it at the range (thurs), we put 300 rounds through it. BIG SMILES.

However, i got it home to clean, and the smiles stopped. The manual is useless. I'm pretty good with taking things apart and puting them back together, but this was a beast! Getting the facade off, is okay once you figure out how to do it, but I made the mistake of following the directions to remove the trigger - BAD IDEA.

Word of advice, be careful to only take the trigger out far enough for it to separate from the bolt - something the manual does not say. Needless to say, I pulled too far, and everything flew out. The bolt and associated spring is absolutely a nightmare to re-install - BEWARE. I bent the spring half a dozen times, having to straighten it out each time - there is also a little plastic spacer that sits at the rear of the trigger, on top of the bolt. CAUTION - the manual does not give instructions - I had to see the exploded parts diagram to get it back together. Once, the spring shot the guide bolt 12 ft across the room, and nearly punched a hole through my TV. (I still have to buff that scratch off!)

Next time, I will not take the trigger out, and just do my best at getting the crap out of the chamber, and bolt assembly. The sad part is I complained to my wife that my Browning takedown was too much work to clean, I sold it to buy this for my kids - a decision that I will rectify when their arms are longer.

I hope this helps -

Hi 55monkeys

I have put 2000+ rounds through my mossberg 22 tactical and only thing i have done is lock the bolt back and give it a good scrub with a brush and run a patch or 2 though the barrel, nothing else, not needed to take it apart and would not recommend taking this rifle apart.

Flat tops aren't being shipped yet, from what I know.
I bought an old style mossberg tactical .22 this past weekend.
OMG I love it. I'm sorta glad that I didn't wait. The A4 handle gives you more scope height, saves you from buying scope risers. The top rail is from Tapco, the folding stock is from ATI.
This gun rocks, went through cleaning then 100 rounds of stingers.
NO FTF, FTE at all. AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
then switched to dynapoints, and 555 win bulk. I get FTE about once per magazine.
I'll try different ammo and see what works cause stingers are twice the cost!!!
If anyone has doughts about this gun, PLEASE don't. Way better than my friends SR-22. At nearly half the cost.

Mine came with the carry handle. Works great with my 4x scope.

I hope that no one misunderstand my earlier post, this gun is a lot of fun - especially for the price & looks. I just wanted to make sure that everyone knew what they were getting into for the cleaning.

Clean it??? Shoot it til it buggers up, get a new one! Love mine, for the price though, doesn't justify too much cleaning effort.

No word on the new Flat Top ????????????????

When I called Cabelas. They told me that they had 400 on order, not sure if she was reading her screen right or they are expecting them to sell like hot cakes. But she told me they are getting lots, and there will be plenty to go around if I did not want to place and order that day ... lol
