Mossberg Tactical .22 FLAT TOP!!!!!

Just picked one up a few days ago, and heading to the range on Sunday...

The gun looks good and feels good, not completely happy with the mag well, but for the price not bad at all..

Will do a review on how it shoots on Sunday.....

Thanks, checked and all sold out. Wanstalls just got some more so I am going to order one from them and cancel Cabela's.

I think I may have got their last one, sorry:p

Had to go pick up my kid from Grandma's and while I was there I had a chance to shot 4 mags out of her. Gotta say when I first opened the box my first impressions where this is a plastic toy with not not enough girth. But after a few mags I find it feels really nice and shoots no problem. I ran AE, Federal and Blazer in it and it ate everything no problem, mags worked great and I didn't find the mag release to bad at all once I got used to where it was. The sights adjusted well, solid clicks every turn.

The only thing I didn't like is where it shoots out the brass. I have short arms and hold the fore end close to the mag and was finding the brass was hitting my fingers sometimes when ejecting. But that is an easy fix....move my hand stupid:eek:

All in all awesome little .22, especially for $320!!

Managed to grab one! Should come soon!

Just wondering what kind of optics people are putting on it and how people are liking the iron sights.

Bent spring, will it still work?

I'm in the middle of putting this back together after cleaning and the guide spring bent a little. Will this still work? Any help would be great.

I quite like the factory irons on the flattop - they remind me of the old C7 and so far they're good and solid.

When I finish a magazine the bolt carrier locks back, the mag gets difficult to remove and when it does come out the action closes. Is this normal? Doesn't seem right to me. I have an older carry-handle model.

This is normal. The bolt catches on the magazine follower, you can pull it back to lock it and make removing the magazine easier or just let it snap forward.

Thanks for the response. Silly design though. Should have a catch that keeps the bolt carrier locked back while changing mags like in pretty much every other magazine fed firearm.

What do I need to attach a one-point sling to this fella? Already ordered the sling, but not sure what swivels or mounts to get!

I haven't read every post but I'm looking for some help please.

I bought a flat-top a while ago, having nothing but problems. FTF every other round. It won't pick up the next round and happens in 4 different factory mags. I've tried blazers, and AE ammo.

I've stripped the gun twice, it's oiled and clean. I've been over every piece of the gun and not even a scratch.

It started happening the first day out after ~50 rounds.

Any thoughts:confused:
