Well,
I want to know if anyone has actually sent a formal email request to have the mags cleared to be legal at 25 rounds?
I have just called the CFO and was told that they are prohib and have to be restricted to ten because they are interchangable with a pistol.
I was told to send an email to firearmident@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
that last thing any one of us need is to be a paper criminal.
Any solid facts with government documents to prove them to be okay at 25 rounds would be great to have on hand.
Thank you for your feedback on this.
Also is this the right forum for this question?
clearly the cfo has it confussed with the ruger bx-25 magazine that fits the ruger charger other wise the mossberg tactical 22 could not be sold with the 25rnd mags theyre info is just plain wrong
CFO's don't even obey the law. Their legal opinion varies from day to day and means nothing. Please don't remind people like that of more thing to prohibit.
so, what is the mystery hand gun that accepts these magazines?
Target, if a rimfire rifle magazine is designed and also described for use in a pistol then it is prohibited unless pinned to ten rounds. Example is the Ruger BX25, it's a 25 round mag but since it packaged and describes that it fits the Ruger Charger 10/22 it must be pinned to ten rounds or it's prohibited.![]()
I'm referring to the (rimfire)capacity and not the application. Semi-auto centerfire rifles are limited to 5 shot to remain non restricted and restricted handguns are limited to 10 shot. Rimfire rifles have no such restriction unless as was mentioned, the magazine can be used in a restricted firearm as well.
The Mossberg magazine only fits Mossberg rifles.

Here is the bulletin that was issue in 2011 to businesses regarding maximum permitted magazine capacities:
http://www.rcmp.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/bulletins/bus-ent/20110323-72-eng.htm
This also refers to the reverse of max capacities regarding pistol mags..... it states that if a center fire mag pistol of 10 rounds which also fits a rifle it must be pinned to five rounds.
4. Magazines designed for one firearm but used in a different firearm
The maximum permitted capacity of a magazine is determined by the kind of firearm it is designed or manufactured for use in and not the kind of firearm it might actually be used in. As a consequence, the maximum permitted capacity remains the same regardless of which firearm it might be used in.
Example:
The Marlin model 45 (Camp Carbine) rifle chambered for 45 Auto caliber uses magazines designed and manufactured for the Colt 1911 handgun, therefore the seven round and eight round capacities are permitted. A similar example is the 10 round capacity magazine for the Rock River Arms LAR-15 pistol, regardless of the kind of firearm it is actually used in.
So the title doesn't count now? Read it. Then read your subsequent posts referring to S&W.
None of your posts make any sense.
You are now on the ignore list. Enjoy your day.
Mosberg tacitical 25rd mag is perfectly legal, Have fun.
The s&w 15-22 factory mag is limited to 10 but there are other 25rd manufactured mags that are legal for it.
I think you're confused somewhere.
Where could I find these 15-22 25rd mags that aren't prohibited you speak of?
Arnt the black dog mags compatible ? I don't own one but I swear I read that somewhere.
