Most accurate .22LR under $750?

I have the same rifle that I won from Canada ammo last Christmas. I love it, the action feels great for a $250 gun
Norinco NS-522 including mounts and useable scope for $750 all in.

It will upset a lot of folk who spend $1,000+ on a rifle, but that is part of the fun of the Norinco...........:)

Candocad.

Would it be fair to say that the CZ would be the GoTo choice for a lefty who wants to spoil himself with 1 left handed bolt gun?

Ages ago my dad had one of the old BRNO target rifles, I don't know which model. I loved that gun, but he sold it and many others when C68 came in.

I'd like to have a rifle like that again. I have the Norc CZ clone and it's a nice shooter, but I'd sure like to have one left hand bolt gun in this life.

I have not shot a CZ rifle. I own a Savage Mark II TR and I can say that it is a terrific shooter. Heavy barrel, nice to shoulder, and as accurate as I can be at this stage. $500 bucks. $200 3-9X40 glass and I can have fun out to 100 yds and beyond if I want to play with serious bullet drop. At 50 yards its amazing.

Enjoy your CZ, I'm sure that it's a great gun and it certainly is elegant.

Thank you canon and 180 for your exchange. I'll bet that you're both great guys and good shooters and any of the guns that you spoke of would be good. The Mom driving diss always makes me laugh as it's pretty tame but creates a funny picture!

I realize OP has already bought but now since I own both a Savage Mark ii TR and a CZ452 Varmint I would say accuracy wise it s a draw ,all comes down to which ammo works best in each rifle. My savages love SK std plus and mini mag 40 g SP.My CZ seems too like RWS target ,aquila subs cci AR tacticle, cci green tag.I don't think one shoots better than the other,Get which ever one suits you and spend some money on good glass.Stock for stock these 2 cost the same money but the Savage has a nicer bolt,Boyd's PV stock and accutrigger for the same price point.CZ bolt is too small
Heres some targets sighting in my new CZ 452 Varmint

Not everyone. My 60s were almost as good as my Savage MKIIF and 452 varmint. Sold the 60s because I decided to concentrate on bolt actions. Semi auto is too much fun and 22 ammo just keeps getting more expensive. But yes, Marlin 60s are under rated in the accuracy department for sure.

I received my CZ 455 FS today and I am very impressed with the quality of the craftsmanship. The stock, the blueing, the sights, the cycling, the trigger.... excellent quality. You certainly get what you pay for. If it shoots tight groupings out to 100 yards which is what my expectations are, then I will be one satisfied fella.

AMT small game hunter semi with a heavy barrel.

I haven't used it "outside" yet but the former owner claimed gophers at 100 yards.

Our daughter tried it at an indoor range at maybe 20 yards, put 10 rounds in one hole and pronounced it "too easy". She does know how to shoot though; just won two gold for rimfire and centerfire handgun in a recent competition.

Lots of good suggestions here though. My personal fav is a single Savage-Anschutz which is very accurate with consistent ammo.

i would go with a cz varmint and do the trigger. my favorite 22. i do own a hb savage and while it shoots well i wouldn't mind if it got a few marks grousing. i think of the savages as more economicle rifle not quite in the class of the cz's. although i wouldn't be suprised if a few of the savages out shot some of the cz'z. luck of the draw and also based heavily on what you feed them. you might get lucky feeding a 22 some bulk crap and have it shoot well but if you step up a little in ammo quality you have a better chance of of finding out what you have. given different ammo my savage can out shoot my cz but feed them what they both like and the cz is the winner.

This messageboard is hilarious sometimes. The guy asks what's a good, precise rimfire rifle on a $750 budget and a bunch of people start arguing about brand superiority and loyalty, good grief.

I would say the heavy barrel Savages in a laminate or wood stock will be excellent shooters based on my experience. The CZ rimfires are also excellent rifles and are made to a better fit and finish. I've owned a few Norincos including the JW-25a and it would shoot 0.5" at 50m which far exceeded my expectations, they're not bad CZ clones.

Brand loyalty is inevitable but neither Savage or CZ come with an accuracy guarantee for a reason. Rimfires are unique, two guns made the same day on the same machine may shoot completely differently and like completely different ammunition. There are CZs that outshoot Savages and the same can be said in reverse. Its luck of the draw sometimes.

The most accurate rimfire for under $750 would be neither of those anyways. It would be a used Anschutz or similar. These can be had and the 64 action is much more affordable and definitely would be a step up from either a CZ or a Savage and the consistency from gun to gun is also much greater which would increase your chances of getting an accurate rimfire.

Love my cz, love my savage... Both shoot the same but the CZ fit and finish is OVBIOUSLY better.

If you could find a good used Remington 541S for that money, you would have a dandy shooter.

I own several, and all will meet the 50M challenge on the RF forum here.

The CZ 452 [I have 3] is a great shooting 22 for the price, and has basically been replaced with the 455, which I cannot speak for.

I would be willing to bet money on the "average" CZ against the "average" Savage, but I'm sure the difference would not be great.

A used Anschutz 64 would be a great start as well. Regards, Dave.

Oh for sure. A walnut blued CZ is a beautiful gun. The only thing of beauty on the savage is the made is Canada stamp.

I actually like the mags on my savage and the bolt is smooth as silk. I put an Apache trigger kit on it and the trigger is very good (I like the accutrigger, not everyone does). Still not as pretty as a CZ though.
