Before we get started, I know the shooter is by far the largest variable, but the question remains. Controlling for all variables except for the gun itself, what do you think the best bang for the buck would be in 9mm pistols?
I know the Sig P226 and some of it's variant are quite accurate out of the box.
The M&P 9, not so much. But you can get an Apex trigger and barrel etc to vastly improve its accuracy.
Then there's the Ruger American, which is apparently quite nice to shoot with accuracy comparable to others in its price class.
Limited to $1000, what would you get? $1500? $2000?
