most accurate 9mm pistol for the money, either stock or via upgrades

Before we get started, I know the shooter is by far the largest variable, but the question remains. Controlling for all variables except for the gun itself, what do you think the best bang for the buck would be in 9mm pistols?

I know the Sig P226 and some of it's variant are quite accurate out of the box.

The M&P 9, not so much. But you can get an Apex trigger and barrel etc to vastly improve its accuracy.

Then there's the Ruger American, which is apparently quite nice to shoot with accuracy comparable to others in its price class.

Limited to $1000, what would you get? $1500? $2000?

I have had many different CZ products (75, 75SA, SPO1, Shadow), and none have been as accurate as the Tanfoglios.

Depends what you are planning to shoot. I'm partial to the Shadow 2 myself. But I shot my brothers Canik TP9sfx (I'm pretty sure thats the right one) and walked away very impressed.

I have 2 very very accurate handguns.

The more economy model is the CZ TS (come on 9mm and 40). Last I saw they were about $1400. They have a superb trigger 1.5lbs single stage and shoot like a lazer beam. They have a big grip and are heavy. I had to put thin grips on mine as the grip was a bit large. I have worked up a hand load that works flawlessly with better accuracy than me. This firearm can easily punch a single hole at 10yards.

The more expensive model is a Pardini GT6 (come in 9mm, 40 and 45ACP). Approximately $3,000 depending on the model. Again superb trigger, fully adjustable 2 stage (by fully I mean weight of both first and second stages and the reach to the trigger and the reset distance). Mine is set at 0.8lb first and 0.7lb second. Grip angle is similar to a Glock but there the similarity ends. They are superbly built. The slide is like butter on ice. Accuracy basically the same at the CZ TS. They can out shoot anyone short of an Olympic level shooter.

Both are very easy to shoot well. It takes a little while to get used to the very light trigger but once you do just focus on the target and think about squeezing the trigger. Every shot that misses exactly what I want is my fault.

You say a trigger is bad? but that is the shooter too....

Put a gun in a vice, and see what it will do without any human interference and you will see some amazing shooting.

I'm sharing guns with my wife and the lack of decocker on a Shadow 2 will turn her off so I think that one is out, as good as it looks.
