Most accurate out-of-box Precision rifle

I saw some TRG bipods in a display case at TSE and the price was a lot more than $450.00! Around the $600.00 mark if I recall?

I heard that the Tac Ops Bravo-51 is very accurate out of the box. I don't know of anyone who sells them up here in Canada. I'd sure love to have one.

Where are you buying these TRG's for 2600-2900. I'll buy 2 right now. Mine was 3299 before taxes.

I have one for sale in the ee right now for 2700 and can throw in the folding stock if you like for a few k more. Phosphate finish

Tac Ops are not factory rifles though. Some are in use by LE teams.

I bought a Tikka T3 with a heavy barrel and have been getting great results, also I dont reload just factory ammo.

Anyone thinking a stock, as-from-the-factory savage or remington (even the 'police' model:rolleyes:) will keep up with a factory Sako TRG needs to really get out to a few competitions where shooting is done away from a bench and further than 100m.....
The Blazer is on my 'to do' list too.
The PGW is a custom build IMHO, but TRGs have no issues keeping up to them....

The TRG are the best but now with my TC Icon Warlord around i think it will get on par with the finnest TRG... only have 110 rounds out of my Warlord but it is already easy sub-half moa with some groups at .225, it got a lot of potential... JP.

I got a Browning M-1000 Eclipse A-bolt in the .300wsm and with crappy winchester ammo it grouped 11/16th at 100 yards. I am sure if you got it in .308 with reloading you would have very nice groups. I like the gun and the thumbhole stock is nice. To hike around with, look for something lighter though haha.

Those are top of the line rifles it come down to your load devellopement if you persevere there is no limit i have got some .25 groups at 200 metres with both my TRG.... hard work always give results... JP

If you havnt bought a rifle yet you can think about doing this in stages to save some cash.

There is a huge aftermarket for Savage and Remington and with the internet order stuff isnt too hard to get. You could get a Savage 10 FCP which comes with a McMillan or HS Precision stock;(about $1100-1300) Remington which comes with a Bell and Carlson. Savage also has the BA and there is the Remington 700 P. There are probably more threads on this forum about Savage vs Remington then anyone can count, I have both and they can both shoot about the same; just which one you like better and what you want. Check out all of them is what I would suggest.

Get a decent scope,($900 for Sightron, $1300 Leupold, $1800+ Nightforce) bed the action (prices vary you can do it yourself, or pay about $150) start shooting. Get more money get some reloading stuff. Keep shooting. Get more money swap the barrel for a Shilen, Kreiger etc. Keep shooting. Swap out trigger for a timmney or jewel or whatever you want. Continue on with this until your rifle is the way you want it. This isnt exactly out of the box but this process will get the job done. .308 will also run you quite a bit less the then .338 LM.

This will still be cheaper then a Sako and definitely cheaper then a Coyote. If on the other hand you have a surplus of money then spend it up Sako and PGW are awesome, buy a Timberwolf if you have the cash, the only reason I dont have one of each is because I cant afford to...yet.

Now than i know i would put the TC Icon Warlord in front of the TRG for pure accuracy without modification and even My TC Icon Precision Hunter 308 will shoot on par with both my TRG, the Icon is the best kept secret of the industry and no i dont work for them... JP.

There are a great deal of opinions flying around here.

I would personally go the custom route based off a remington, savage, or other action. I know you said out of the box but if you are truly looking for out of the box the remingtons, tikka, and savages will generally leave something to be desired.

I honestly have to say that the TC Icon Warlord and Precision Hunter dont leave nothing to be desired... JP.

3000.00 out of the door and yes bring all the rifle you want i may not beat them but they wont beat me either at least i know i will best both my TRG not by much but it will and dont overlook the Precision Hunter using my proven TRG load it will give almost the same group... JP.
