most accurate rifle with factory ammo

I dis-agree I think there is a portion of the shooters, old or new that think money buys accuracy, or there is that one gun that shoots better. I think its important to make people aware that there is no, for sure in anything here. I have done well with high and low priced as I mentioned before. Not everyone is as educated on this matter so I think what positive information we can add to the conversation is good for all new and old.

You missed the point... a blanket statement using NO experience and drawing on incorrect parallels with unrelated firearms is not helpful in any way shape or form. The benefit of the online information highway is also the draw back... good info gets around fast, bad info gets around with lightning speed... and online armchair experts love to regurgitate BS info that they read online and then pass off as their own experience... what ends up happening is a cestpool of misinformation... that simmers on the world wide web and pops up with every Google search. I prefer either personal experience or the experience of others that I know and trust or those that have credibility due to the trust of those I know and trust... there are many very experienced shooters and hunters on CGN, for example, and there are also some that draw on "Wikipedia experience..." the trick is deciphering which is which... the truly experienced shooters/hunters can spot the fakes within a few strokes of the keyboard, unfortunately new shooters/hunters gobble up the misinformation and store it for future use and/or regurgitation, thus perpetuating the cycle.

Again... :agree:

so I just bought a weatherby vanguard in 223 for coyotes on Monday only to find out today that here in NB we are finally joining the 20th century and they are lifting caliber restrictions, we had to use any caliber under .23 after deer or bear season, so I might be looking for deer/coyote rifle. so what is everybody using for a 400 yd rifle with factory ammo

I use 308 for 400yds and less, 338 lapua up to 800 and 50bmg for anything beyond. I know the calibers have more effective range in them on large game, but I like to play it safe when it's not paper. Ymmv

The brands of rifles are steyr and desert tech

So each kill has a price tag near a grand? :sok2

That is my point, previous post I put up as advised should be read. different guns, different quality, and huge price difference. You re-enforce my point. thanks.

No a 300 dollar Savage Axis can take game out to 400 as we tested, humbling when you have a 2000 dollar rig doing a bit better but don't be confused by the na sayers try it for yourself!!!

Are we in a race to the bottom? Is spending the least amount to do the job now the measure of a man? I simply posted what I use, I don't care if someone spent less to shoot an animal at 400yds

I replied to your comment which was a reply to another posters comment started by my original post of what I used. Carry on pretending how I somehow initiated your response with my post when it was the other way around

I replied for myself, you clearly took issue with the cost of guns I use as did the other poster. Have fun racing to the bottom.
