I hope they do. It will lay bare their true colours on the issue. And it will be the end of the Liberal Party as an electable group.
Mmmm... I don't know about that...
As much as I would love to agree, I'm not sure this is the case. It should have been C-68 and the Lieberal's pledge to end private gun ownership in Canada that ended them as an electable group years ago. Well, that and innumerable scandals over the years; but somehow they keep coming back. Considering they were voted to the edge of oblivion during the previous election but managed to come back with a healthy majority this time - especially after running on a campaign of ruining the country - speaks to their resilience. Resilience like a cancerous tumour.
To the point, the powers that be which purged Australia and more so the UK of nearly all private firearm ownership, as far as I understand it, are still very much around today, electable, and even in power. Considering the fact that the only voting option for (single-issue) firearms owners was relegated to second place in the last election, I very much doubt that much would change or many of the typical Canadian non-shooting sheeple in Vancouver, Southern Ontario, the GTA or the maritimes would even take notice.
As far as laying bare their true colours, we ALL know their true colours. We don't need them to ban all semi-autos to know that; we have countless previous Lieberal governments that speak to their true nature. Actions speak louder than words, or silence...whichever the case may be.
I'm afraid I need to agree with beltfed that folks need to tune into the grim realities of a Lieberal majority and the implications thereof. This is not speaking from under a tinfoil hat, either - just from personal experience - the same personal experience as many of the good folks on this forum.
Furthermore, it would seem that the EU is heading in that direction already and considering Turdeau's need to fit in with the cool kids it may come sooner than we all think. Posted on it here:
