already several votes for the Browning Hi-Power, but here's another vote
Belgium Beauty, King of the Nines, 9s, 9mils
I call it the smaller and slightly younger cousin of John Browning's American classic 1911 (which is also a beauty, my three month Ruger SR1911 is a close second for me now)
First handgun I shot after joining the Reserve Army as a teenager was the old Inglis versions - black beauties - very utilitarian. Trained with them and carried them on alerts through 80s when I went to Regular Force and into 90s. So when I had a chance to buy a new modern version about two years ago from an acquaintance I jumped, jumped fast, took it off his hands the same day he mentioned it. An awesome deal - he basically wanted to get what shops had offered but know it went to a good home and he included a bunch of ammo. I love mine, great for USPSA matches or Steel Challenge. Conceal carry it often in a Galco Kingtuk, have total confidence in it.

P210 is withoout a doubt the finest pistol ever created by the hands of man. I've got a Surp one with the old reddish finish. A superb example of precision and craftsmanship.

Another Kimber for me! Have a Desert Warrior which I love. Now I have Pro Carry II as well. Even though it has a bushingless bull barrel it is IDPA legal. Page 23 of the rulebook. Can't decide which one I shoot better.

Took a couple of weeks, but it sold.
