Most over rated or over hyped pistol?

Exactly my feelings. Just love that P7, although my brass does not land in a "neat pile".
 
I will now commit blasphemy. I have bought many new and used COLT 1911's and I never had one that didn't need some tweaking or downright serious gunsmithing to work 100% reliably and be accurate to an acceptable degree. Some where so loosely fitted they required a gunsmith to tighten up. And no, this loose fit didn't enhance reliability. Rounds still got caught in the feed ramp and stovepiped with ease.
Why do I keep buying them?
 
I have to agree with anything Colt being over rated. Their 1911's are seriously over priced and short of features compared to the competition.
 
this was actually done before I think I actually started the thread after I saw a similar one on one of the US forums. Anyhow Glock 'won' both times. costom 1911 was the close second IIRC....

The most over rated handgun I ever bought is the Para P-16 LTD.

Their ads let me to expect more than I received. Worst barrel I've ever seen on a commercial gun and the assembly standard was about mil spec.

I've since examined other P-16's and there seems to be production continuity in terms of my observations.

I can't help but notice there is always at least one up for grabs here.
