Most reliable action/shotgun

is the number of moving parts important? when one breaks, the whole system goes down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes! With each additional moving part, there is the risk that the part may not move or if it does, it will move in the wrong way or may interfere with another part. My vote goes for a single shot, or put two singles together and call it a double with two triggers. Hey if one side fails you have a good reliable single left. Change the order! Double first and make it a box lock.

As I posted in another thread:

Well I just ordered my first double barrel gun today. I found it at Tradex. It's a used Lanber o/u double triggers, 27 1/2in barrel, Nickel? engraved receiver, fixed chokes (full/mod) and extractors. Overall rating: very good. The only thing wrong is a small dent in the vent rib. Anthony sent me blow up pics of it and it seems easy to fix. All for about half the price of a Stoeger!

For those who have not yet discovered Lanber, check out their website:

Nice gun ( even though it's not a sxs lol) looks a little like my Merkel 200E, give us some reviews, and pic's when you get it.

I won't comment on break actions (undoubtedly the simplest) but for a repeater, I would have to say the Mossy 500/590 series. I have tens of thousands of rounds through these guns. Also, for what its worth, they are the only shotgun to pass the US Army's Mil-Spec 3443E test. I know... the 870 didn't enter the competition (Don't want to irk the remmies, this has been beat to death everywhere):puke:
