Most Reliable Semi auto.

Swiss arms classic green was probably the most reliable and best shooting gun I ever owned.... And banned

Of what's left...
My T97 gen3 has never ftf, fte, no excessive wear on components after thousands of rounds.

Ruger pcc9 takes a close second... I've owned three, all wear realizable and accurate.

Sks... I've owned at least 7 now... Both chincom and Rus.
Some are gtg... Some aren't. Had mag issues on a chincom, gas issues on an run, failed components on an ru. I had one were the stock became do loose after a case of ammo the reciever would move back and forth 3/8s of an inch.

I can't believe how much the Russian SKS has gone up in the last 10+ years! That's the last time I looked at prices. I think I paid around $220 for mine but it's not a pretty refurb. Painted barrel, non matching numbers, all beat up and looked like it went to war. A year or so later, I see a guy shooting a MINT Russian SKS. I complimented that the barrel looks so shiny and when examined up close, it was nicely blued! I was in awe and wished I bought another one. He paid less than me at Lebarons! Later, I was at Lebarons and they were showing a customer a SKS and it looked just as mint and I wish I picked up another one just to keep as a display item at home and shoot with the beater.

When I shoot mine, it can hit that 300M steel target at the Oshawa Skeet and Gun Club with iron sights using surplus corrosive ammo that I bought in crates (I still have 1 crate left and possibly unopened). I can never get the barrel fully cleaned. Always super dirty no matter how much I clean it even when it arrived, it was so dirty. lol. But the things shoots straight and never messed up.

Back in the 90's when I bought one of Lever's "Family Packs" of SKS's I purposely selected one rifle for a durability test.
For the next 20+ years I never cleaned/oiled or otherwise lifted a finger on maintenance. Thousands of rounds of corrosive and non-corrosive, silver box/white box/red box and not one failure.... ever.

I thought for sure running dozens of boxes of corrosive through her would end her days but nope. Maybe the excessive fouling protected it? lol

Anyway, I gave her away to my brother in law years ago and he hasn't cleaned it yet either!

SKS wins.

the problem is the g36 we have is not really the one used for the test nor the ones used in the different armies or forces.

There was 10 or 11 authentic ones that came in as movie props years ago and were sold to civilians

Tactical imports guns that came decades later are built from parts kits and not what I am talking about.

There has been a few G36's imported from the USA by irunguns as well.

The only difference between these few guns that made it to Canada and the ones in military service is the trigger group that can be easily swapped with the select fire one

Anyways, the op asked for the most reliable available, and it still is.

i suggest you re-read some threads and comments made about the g36s sold in canada about the repro bolt or the barrel ... the last batch was kit with parts from different places but you re right the real g36 is a great rifle ... and i cant say a word about the cz bren 2 i do not know nor have shot any ...

As I said, you even quoted it. I am not talking about the tactical imports parts guns.

There was 11 or so that made it in to civilian hands in canada prob 2 decades earlier. They were purchased directly from HK, the only difference is the trigger group from the military select fire.
