Hard to find but they (336Y) come up for sale once in a while on the EE Forum. I've polished the internals of the Remlin 30-30 and it shoots better than I can hold it at 100 meters. At 50 meters I was shocked when I clover leafed a three shot group using Winnie 150 grain factory ammo. Maybe I was luck on the bench but for pushing bush , this 336Y will be my go to rig.
No doubt Remlin rifles are hit and miss, but I've been lucky with more hits than misses. Sounds like my Norinco M14 or M305 antics doesn't it?
I'm on my second 336Y and I regret selling the first one I tweaked into a great little shooter. I had sold it at a momentary point of weakness. A year later I missed it. I bought another used one last month. And then I bought a set of Champion black plastic replacement stock set for the 336. I hack sawed the rear end of the fore stock and with a rasp, fitted it to the receiver. Now I have an evil black stocked .30-30 lever ready for the bush.
Buy what works for you and your game and your budget and your fondle factor and your looks cool factor and your wife.
Cheers, Barney.
