Mount for Micro H1

I use a LaRue tactical mount on my T1, very happy with the combination. LaRue quality is outstanding.

Compared to an Adm mount the larue costs more, is difficult to acquire, requires a wrench to adjust and can damage your rail. The Adm is available, costs less, does not need tools to adjust and will not damage your rail. Both are solid, the Adm offers better features for less money.

The DD mount is also a terrific option since the need for a qr mount just isn't there for hobby shooters.

Yup. Have Larue or DD on mine. DD or that Fortis is fine for hobby use.

For my first T1s in Iraq I used Larue, then switched to DD in Afghan to shave weight. Went back to Larue when I needed to use my optic and couldn't due to snow on the lens. QD is a nice feature when the optic goes down.

for a QD FEATURE YOU only have 2 to choose from -Bobro or Larue, " RETURNED TO ZERO". or you might as well get a non QD.

For quick release ADM or Bobro is the only way I would go.

The Larue mounts I had kept coming loose and would chew up my rail/upper.

However with the Aimpoint, a quick release isn't needed.

And that's a perfect example of a need over a want.

Having all the cool guy kit on a gun is useless if you can't afford to buy ammo for it, or only put a few hundred rounds through it a year.

What's even funnier than a good qr mount on an optic is expensive back up irons on a range gun that the user doesn't even compete with.

I've got a couple guns that only have an optic, no irons. Because if the optic breaks, I'll shoot something else or go home. Because I'd rather spend that money on ammo or other consumables like mags.

This. Micros don't go down. I got my DD mount from Brownells since nobody in Canada had and still don't have them in stock.

Whoever says the DD mount is just for hobby shooters needs to give his head a shake.

Whoever says you don't need a QR mount for operational use has never had the lens obscured when they needed to shoot something. Lesson learned.

DD mount in use before going back to Larue.

Context.

A weekend hobby shooter isn't going to sacrifice a mission, lose a partner or get himself killed if he doesn't have a quick release mount on his optic.

Others, like Big_Red, have a real reason to have a qr besides looking cool.

If you want a good co-witness alignment, get a 3/4" riser. I went through this and found that half inch is too low and 1 inch is too high. The 3/4 inch are almost perfect alignment but are sometimes very hard to find. This applies to using MBUS sights and others of the same height.

I got a mount from Calgary Shooting Center for 30$, thanks guys. 100$ is too much for a 1" square piece of aluminum in my mind haha.

I don't see the need for a quick release mount.. I have no need to take it on and off regularly and if I do unscrewing it is no biggy. Honestly what is the point of a quick release unless maybe you are switching scopes regularly?

Three choices, Adm, bobro, larue.

Tried ADM before AND EXPERIENCED a change of PO1 @50 yards .75 MOA, and double at 100 yards. Although my Larue mounts keeps its zero, its leaves a mark on the rails and you have to readjust the mount from one rifle to another. My favorite is the BOBRO, no loss of zero, doesnt mark my rails and no adjustment needed.

Odd, I've run 4 different Adm mounts without issue as have several others I know. What mount?

it was the AD RECON MOUNT, it was fine if permanently or semi perm attached. but to function as a QD, guess not not as lucky as others.

So I bought a mount and it when installed there is still slop between it and the aimpoint, have any of you experienced this and what did you do?

I have two one of which is an ADM I bought for my Eotech. It has two sections one of which is five slots and the rear smaller and higher one intended for a magnifier. Take a look as for a few extra $$ you have two heights and more flexibility if you change optics at some point. The QD works well and overall quality is excellent.

My other riser is a .5 inch for my Leupold. It's a Leupold product and also five slots long which once again give you some flexibility and future changes
