Folks, I'm moving to Kitchener this fall and looking for the club so I would like to hear from you, what is your personal experience with area gun clubs? Which would you recommend or not recommend. Any help is highly appreciated ;).

a bit of a drive but I love eesa in aylmer, trap, short and long distance outdoor plus indoor. very reasonable membership. friendly.

Galt is expensive.
But it's an incredibly nice facility. They have everything.

Don't bother with Elmira. They'll only let hill-billies join.

Colby is a great indoor range. But it's only an indoor range.

Galt Sportsmen Club is the best club in that area.... possibly the best club in Canada. I have been too many clubs and nobody can compare to what they have to offer: 200m handgun & rifle range, indoor range with 24/7 access, sporting clay range on 50 acres of land, trap, skeet, 5 stand, archery, fishing.... they even have a restaurant open on Sundays.

I think I know all clubs in the area:
- Bridgeport
- Colby - only 20m indoor range
- WCRA - no new memberships as far as I know
- Elmira - no new memberships as far as I know
- Galt

I wanted to hear about personal experience with those clubs. I already got couple of opinions regarding Galt club and I believe you folks that this is great club but I also need to consider financial aspect as well :(.
What about other clubs? Any insights from their members?

P.S. In worst case scenario I can drive 50 minutes to my current club :)

I've been a member for a month or two, so not much to say.
No bad experiences. Everyone I've met or dealt with is pleasant, and easy-going.
It's a smaller range, but it's also not crowded. Being a pretty new shooter, I find it perfect for me right now. I might want to stretch my legs a bit in future, but I can always shoot on a day pass at Silverdale.

theres twin city rifle range in between New Hamburg and Stratford. about 20 min drive from downtown Kitchener. 300 meter range and all the other stuff. But it is up to a year waiting list to get in.

Really depends on what you want to shoot. For handgun, IPSC, PPC, the only range in the area is Waterloo County Revolver. 15 mins from about anywhere in KW.
They will be accepting new membership apps in September I hear.

Good ole boy club, unless you are local hillbily, you are undesirable and strongly discouraged from becoming a member.

If OP is looking for a club free of discrimination, he is well advised to avoid this club at all costs.
