Your hunting in NB would be much the same as here in NS. A nice medium power scope(3x-9x 3.5-10), bolt in .270Win/.30-06/7mmRemMag, and a short, fast handling "low power scoped"(1.5-4.5,2x-7x) carbine in say .308Winchester, would cover all your bases. Two rifles mentioned I know, but it gives you the tree stand hunt in the morning and evening glassing that powerline or big chopping, and something to still hunt and scout sign with during the day. It also gives you the moose choice should you be lucky to draw that one.Trust me it works.
The .270win will also double as an excellent Coyote rifle throughout the winter months as my Winchester XTR FWT in .270 does for me. I used hornady interlocks of 100grs @ 3360fps. Nice coyote stopper and very accurate in mine. Now I shoot whatever I have zeroed for deer during coyote season, just add the winter camo.
