MP5 parts for new 10/22 Build

My mistake. That aluminum cover at the rear of the action really thru me off for some reason. Even now when I look at it, it still doesn't look right.

Awesome looking rig BTW!

I hate to rain on your parade but it is deadly accurate:p. I mean the image thats is and hopefully the gun when its been completed:D. Thats not a photoshop mock up my friend. Its a photograph of how far the build has gone as of last week. Everything in the line drawing is an exact duplicate of the build. I have the original Ruger 1022 shop drawings in AutoCAD and the design was laid out based on that information. I should imagine that I'm with .01"+/- which is fine for this kind of work.

This is how far I am today with minor changes I made for asthetic reasons. Shes almost ready for the paint room.

dam you should mass produce these after its done

be nice if you could "tie" the whole rifle together from the muzzle threads to the butt stock vie the mocked up gas system.

Actually, that was kind of the intent. Keep in mind that it is still a "works in progress" and there's still a few parts that I need to design such as the spacial regulating diaphramatic lapel and the self aligning quadra sear vertical tri-shaft :onCrack:. I don't think very many people understand just how difficult it is to fabricate these parts by hand:rolleyes:.

The other parts such as the muzzle break, foregrip, mag release, bolt handle and the front sight/barrel bracket still need some attention as well as the gas system and some type of sight base. Once they're detailed and installed I'll paint her (Duracoat) HK Black. So really I still have a lot to do before its range ready.:)

Nice build, but it's not from World War II.

No, but this one is:dancingbanana:

With your collection of truly custom Ruger 10-22's, you might need to request a new CGN handle.... unless you've fabricated even more stuff for AR15's than you have for Rugers.

I bow down to you sir....you are my new idol. Leonardo Da Vinci would be proud of this work of art you have created. So, how much to build one for me?

Thats funny cause I was just about to propose the same thing. Lets have a sticky in the rimfire section for all modified pistols and rifles. Modified would include anything from painting your trigger purple to fully changing it so you can't even tell its a 10/22. No illegal mods obviously.

Maybe at the end of the year we can post all the mods as a poll and have all of CGN vote as to the most original, the most outragious, the most stupid, the most creative, etc. I think it would be a lot of fun for everyone.

How does one go about getting a sticky approved?

Start or find a 10/22 costomization thread in the photo gallery forums. If it is popular enough it may get a sticky. (Like the AR-15's and 1911's)

I'll buy 2 tomorrow. When will you be selling them. When. WHEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!:runaway::D

x2, if, and more likely when you pull thiss off you'll have a hell of a hot item on your hands. The only thing I dislike about it is the standard 10/22 hotlips style mags. Have you thought of a way to make it more like the MP5's?
Keep up the great work, you're a hell of an inspiration! :D

Sorry guys and gals. Gonna have to wait for a while. :( At least unitl the yard works done, the pools openned, the boat's been launched and my wifes to-do list has been taken care of. Of Course, by then I'll have to haul the boat out, close the pool and rake the leaves. Then I'll finally be able to do some more work on them.

Hell, I haven't even been to the range in four weeks and I'm starting to get cold sweats from the lack of shooting.:p

So here's what I've built since Sept. 2007.:
2007-8NewBuilds.jpg

I started my first build last September. That would be my green 10/22 race gun. Next was my little M1A Carbine. That was a particularly easy project and its was great for plinking away at the range. But I needed a bigger challenge so I started the 1917 water cooled Browning. After I finished that one that I felt I could pretty much build anything:rolleyes:. So I started the Thompson and my little MP something or other. Thats what got me in trouble too many projects on the go and too much real work (you know, the kind you make money at) so I am going to back off for the summer, do at little sailing, shooting and rest up to be ready for another onslaught of projects this fall. I'll tinker a bit over the summer but not to seriously until September.

I just got the Thompson stick mag from Marstar so the Thompson's first on the list since I now have all of the parts I need to finish it up. Watch for it this fall as I think the Thompson is going to be a real winner and maybe a new kit for all those 10/22CGN's who have nothing better to do than waste money on silly add on's and burn up hundreds of dollars on ammo. :p Just up in smoke. :runaway:Crazy if you ask me.:runaway:

Have a good summer all.
