Nope it is a recent change, last year. You must now import as a prohib, full auto, etc and certify as deact, or deact IN CANADA, per the new "Guidelines".There is no more deact importation allowed since the late 90's. Even importing airsoft is on shaky ground these days.

That's not what Marstar told me years ago when they were planning to go into deact business but was completely rebuffed by the feds.

Agreed, they are generally imported under the film category. As with most prohib imports, they are done under the "closest" category.CAN AM:
One cannot import for the purpose of deactivations....
That prescribed purpose does not exist in Canada.
