MRA renegade and Spectre ballistics builds

Now the other thing we need-proprietary mags!

I made a prototype today for my LPC

Fits in LPC:

Won't fit into AR15

Won't fit in Tavor!

Seriously though, how hard would it be for someone with a 3D printer to make a magazine body that is wider below the LPC magazine well than a normal AR mag but same internal dimensions and same upper end of mag so it will engage? I don't know anything about 3D printers but it seems they can do anything. :)

hi guys, does the Renegade use standard AR take down pins? I have been scanning these threads quickly but can't see any aftermarket takedown pins?

people here posted that aftermarket pins fit quite loosely in the Renegade, but I can't confirm. the Renegade comes with pins in the box, unlike the LPC, so there's no need to buy separately or recycle them from an old AR.
the pins that come with the Renegade work well; the Renegade has less play than the Spectre LPC, which uses standard AR pins.

I like Gatehouse's idea. hopefully someone makes it happen for both receivers. with the correct followers for 223, 6.5G, 6.8, big-bores etc.
too bad we couldn't just externally pin existing AR mags LOL

For anyone wanting a high quality barrel for your straight pull build, ATRS responded to my question about such on their forum with the following:

ATRS said:
We've already been making short barrels without gas ports for some of these "straight pull" designs. They're just custom and honestly haven't seen a huge demand

Got my pins from Tactical Ordinance. Perfect fit into the hole of the gas block, and the small hole for the roll pin is the exact right size and position. You'd want the fit in the gas block to be snug and it is. At first I thought I'd have to force the pin in, but then I remembered to thoroughly clean the inside of the gas block using action cleaner spray and a couple q-tips. Then I just had to gently tap in the pin with a brass hammer. Understandably the pin rotated a bit as I tapped it in, so I just gripped the pin with a piece of leather in a vice and rotated the small hole into alignment (I had the gas block off the barrel; if you still have it on the barrel, you could probably do that with vice grips and small piece of leather to prevent damage). Anyway, these are a great option if you want to keep a gas block with a front sight (and don't want to flip it around, I think that would look weird).

I picked up a MRA set and just realized that my Magpul bev block won't fit in this for barrel installation. Will I need to buy a MRA assembly rod or are there other solutions ?

Search the thread in MRA's sub-forum. I believe you can knock the pin out of the Bev Block and just use the center insert piece clamped in a vice. You may need an extra set of hands to help hold it all though.

Here's mine. I didn't build this one, but I'll likely either convert it to or build another upper in 300blk. I wish there was a shorty 300blk barrel with a Carbine length gas block area so I could duplicate this, I really dig the magpul handguard.

Looks great! What length of barrel is that, and what are the other parts?

I'm currently looking it up.

Mft pistol grip
Mft battlelink stock
Barrel simply says "marksman 5.56x45" it's 11"
MRA muzzle brake
Bolt head is unknown
Buffer components unknown
Gas block appears to be a clamp on model, no markings.
Magpul Moe Carbine length handguard
Vortex spitfire gen 1 prism sight

for people looking to build a shorty 300 BLK, RDSC has 10.5" Criterion 300 BLK barrels in stock.
they come with no gas hole, are chrome lined, and were made to be used with these straight pull receivers.
