MSAR STG-556 Any News?

Even if it's declared legal by the RCMP, the State Department will never allow it to be exported because it's considered a non sporting firearm. Just look at the PS-90's and FS2000's.

It may appear that your statement is incorrect a local dealer has brought in 2 of the FN FS2000 and has currently about 6 more on the way up and he has the US State Dept export permits .

We need to seriously think about banning all americans from CGN.

This may be a canadian site but certainly it is for firearms enthusiasts all around all around the world, especially for those who want to help discuss and share opinions.

Darren works at LWRC, he is a valuable source of direct info and experience.

K100 is the owner of Grand Power in Slovakia and takes the time to provide us with info.

We don't need this exclusive rubbishness ....

I'm pretty sure this was said in jest. I doubt that anyone here seriously has a problem with the contribution made by CGN'ers of the "yanqui" persuasion...we're just a teensy bit jealous of their AK's, FAL's, Class III items...you get the picture.

Maybe I'm putting words in someone's mouth here, but I didn't read it as mean-spirited. I guess that's one of the problems inherent with posting to a forum - nobody can see you grinning. ;)

Apparently they're planning on making pistol calibre versions using Glock magazines. If so, that would be significantly different from the old AUG-9 (presumably, maybe they're just going to use a different mag. interface).

It's not so military and it's not so AUG, so maybe...

They will be begging for Canadian business since the Real AUGA3 by Steyr will be hitting the civilian market in the end of 2nd.

If the AUGA3 comes out on time, MSAR will be done like dinner. No owonder they look distressed at SHOt.

Yes, I do feel for Microtech after all their hard work. Looks like Steyr will even have STANAG mag adapters/versions of the AUG. I do like to look of the A3. On a positive note, if they do let the MSAR-556 into Canada, it will open the door for several more guns.

So if they let the MSAR-556 into Canada would that mean the Steyr AUG would be taken off the prohib list? Hmmmm...........

Nope, but Microtech has said their gun is not an AUG. It is up to the FRT lab to decide. For us getting an Austrian AUG will still be easier due to export permits being trouble these days.
