Mueller Optics 8.5-25x44mm AO Eraticator REVIEWS??

I grilled the snot out of the mueller guys in the states about their warrenty AND more importantly their return percentages.

I'm convinced that their failure rate is lower than the average (which is good) and the warrenty is adequate (not as good as leupolds, and turn around time isn't as good - but adequate.)

HOWEVER - i notice on their website they are now requesting that you provide the original bill from the dealer the scope was originally purchased from. That's new - so when you get the scope stick the reciept or at least the store name in the box and keep it. That way if you sell it to someone else you can guarantee there will be no problem with the warrenty.

White falls is the only dealer i'm aware of in canada directly, so if you deal with them, they pretty much have to take the thing back if there's a problem :D

If you're at all concerned about the warrenty - i'd call white falls and talk to him. He's a nice guy - and sometimes gives minor discounts to gunnutz if you ask real nice :D

Yeah, Phil wrote me back earlier tonight and confirmed that the warranty is transferable, but you do need to make sure to give the original purchase receipt to the new owner.

Has anyone had any negative experiences with a TAC II scope?

I'm seriously considering one for a hunting rifle. If the Bushnell Elite 3200 10x "Tactical" was a variable, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I have an Elite 10x on a serious target rifle, and it is excellent and reliable. I believe that, dollar for dollar, it is probably the best deal on a rifle scope going, bar none (I paid something like $200 for it, brand new). Unfortunately, a straight 10x is not really practical on a hunting rifle, unless you are hunting varmits or critters who shoot back.

The TAC II seems to fit the bill as the variable power equivalent of the Bushnell. Is that a fair assessment? If so, then I think I will pick it up in the New Year.

Bone's had his tac 2 on his 300 tikka for 2 seasons now - says he won't buy anything else. And he's had a few of the bushnells. In fact i think he's just about to order an eradicator or another tac 2 for a new rifle.

Its' a little more expensive than 200 bucks, but it's worth it.

I have spoke to Phil at White falls aswell, he is a fantastic guy to deal with. I have the Bushnell 10X and it is hard to beat for the $$, but it clear that the TACT II is the scope that can do it.

I have read nothing but good reviews about the Mueller scopes, there is a very good review on the Whitefalls web-site, but I to would like to hear from a CGN'er who owns one, I am looking at the 3-10X44 TAC II.

Thanx for the pointer, Steve. Gonna look at one for my 305.

Bought a spotting scope from Phil at White Falls. Excellent guy to deal with.

I confirm that phil is a great dealer. I gave me good and true advice even if it meant not making a sale.

I will defentively buy from him, but still have to wait for the new scopes.... :(

Just to confirm, without being asked to go this far Phil contacted the head of the company immediately on receiving my email, and got the word that they feel the APV is well suited for the M305 and there would be no warranty issues.

Can't go wrong dealing with Phil. )

I just received a APV from Phil a couple of days ago. I just got it mounted on my 10/22. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

I have 3.3" of eye relief on my 30-06 with my Elite 3200. Your saying the 3.4" of eye relief on the mueller isn't enough for anything bigger then a 22-250?

No, I'm saying "my particular" Mueller has little eye relief and based on actually owning this scope, I limit it to my low recoiling rifles.
Its sharp and clear at high magnification, I recommend this brand highly and Phil's service felt personal.
