I had sent my chiappa for some warranty work there about a month ago. I hadn’t heard anything from them so I emailed to ask about it and they said they were closing and they were sending my gun to Grech Outdoors in Ontario for the warranty work. Anyone know if grech is a good shop?

I was afraid someone might say something like that. I imagine theyll have a pile of guns to sort through and work on as well. Maybe I will get it back by spring.

I wish I could say something positive. I actually want to find out what products they are a "certified" repair center for just to avoid buying from that manufacturer to avoid the headache down the road. Maybe someone on here has had a great experience with their repair service, you never know. Heck Trudeau might show signs of intelligence too!

I had a problem with a Mossberg and sent it to Grech and they never came through to solve it, so I went directly to Mossberg who were great. It was almost a year with Grech and 3 weeks with Mossberg.

I waited over a year on a CZ2, thankfully the warranty for CZ got transferred to Wolverine Supplies who dealt with my issue immediately. Wouldn't even bother ever sending anything to Grech.

In all fairness, that review is based on only one customer feed back. However, no one was happy with the CZ warranty work when they were looking after it; but a lot of that was the difficulty they were having getting parts from CZ.

You’re right.... But if the OP does a forum search for “Grech” you’ll see that the D+ is not an outlier, and that it is in fact a generous review compared to the rest.

I have been into guns ; AKA dealing with shops , gunsmiths etc. since 1964 . Most have been good + . I have gone to Grech 2 X .
The 1st. time was bad & after the 2nd. X ,,,,,,,, I said I will never go back . A friend of mine (Dale) took a Win. 94 Trapper there to
put back together , as Dale's friend disassemble it to do a complete clean & could not reassemble . After sitting @ Grech's for 1 1/2 years
Dale took it back.
I got the job . In 4 hours I had it back together . All it needed was 3 missing screws replaced that I had to make up.

I have heard other bad stories from friends also .

That was what I understood with another shop dealing with CZ as well

I would think that they should inform you and get your permission to send the firearm to anybody else. Things do get lost in some shuffles. I would have them send back to you and look elsewhere for the repairs . At least you have it in your possession until you decide. Grech is a downer for service.

Whew! Glad I got the parts I needed from MC before this happened! They were a pleasure to deal with.

I tried to make any inquiry at Grech about a buying a shotgun barrel year or so ago. Got an absolutely retarded response to my detailed email (that the respondent didn't bother to read or couldn't comprehend). I replied to that email to painstakingly clarify the obvious and never heard from them again. That will be the last they hear from me.

I'm surprised that the manufacturers stand for allowing such a business to represent them, and look after their service work. It can't all be lies when you hear nothing good about some places, while other shops get great reviews all the time.
