Now that is a fine collection of paperweights.:D

Hey Guntech: You sure about the spelling? NC Star doesn't seem to agree with you! LOL

Sorry, couldn't help it!

It also says Mini 14...
that's probably the broken part... :D

Brakes 'brake' the recoil.
If there is 'break' involved, something is or has broken as far as I am concerned.

WHO THE f**k CARE if it BREAK or BRAKE, Seem to me that Language police is everywhere not just, You know where.

If correct terminology is used, communication is more accurate. It is called knowledge.

But anyone can call it whatever they want. In some cases ignorance is bliss.

If you go to Google and type Muzzle break or Muzzle brake, you get the same result, what come down to is pickiness.

If I wanted to break my muzzle then I'd smash it to the ground and ride over it with a tank. If I wanted to brake my muzzle then I'd thread a device on the end of my barrel to help aid in recoil reduction. It's really that simple.........:p.

I have one of the suppressor-compatible Surefire Brakes on my AR (MB556K). I think that the brakes are alright for export. The Surefire tech on the phone didn't care that I was in Canada, when I called to get proper guidance on indexing the brake.

A member of this board tracked it down for me.

Edit: The SF muzzle brakes all look like ITAR items. So, yeah. I'm glad that I grabbed one in Canada, when I did.

There a guy out in BC got several of those tactical muzzle break, what I mean is brake, dint mean to confuse the old and ANAL, any way I try to get a whole of him and give you a PM.
If you wish.

Currently running a Rem700 aac-sd in .308, not overly big obviously so there isnt that much of a need for a break....not gonna lie....I want one for the look cool factor, cuts back on the minimal recoil, and the barrel does look weird to me threaded......

If I were to put one on, would it adversely effect my muzzle velocity or the accuracy of my rounds?

I've got the same gun and want a brake for the same reason. I'mm going to order one from Cortac Solutions or ATRS. I'm getting one that's the same contour as the muzzle, I think a big bulky one on a 20" barrel would look goofy. I'm betting it'll change the point of impact though.
I just mounted my scope but haven't shot it yet. How does yours shoot?

It's spelled brake and they do not affect velocity and often better accuracy is obtained with heavy recoiling rifles... and the threads are not visible when the brake is on.

No need to get into techincalities such as a small typographical error. I am sorry that my learning disability has offended you...I'm sure there are other things to worry about bro.

You didn't offend me...

I was just passing on knowledge. I know I learn things everyday. If it was a typo, no big deal. If you didn't know, that's no big deal either. Don't take it personal. There is a lot of inexperience on this forum and a lot of knowledge to be had...

I don't have any brothers...

Being deployed to the most Dangerous province in Afghanistan for 206 days clearly negates a typographical error on my part. (TF 1-10, OP Athena, Recce Sqn, 1 RCR Battle Group)

If it's no big deal, why bring it up in the first place? I know what Im doing, no need to assume. One friendly post about advice on a rifle component turned into about a dozen or so legitimate replies.....and then a 3 page spelling bee on the proper spelling of the component in question; a waste of time and bandwidth if you ask me.
