OK, here it is: My TACTICAL 10/22 rig. Like I said in a previous post; watch out zombie gophers and undead squirrels ! This gun's gonna get ya :sniper:
Seriously, the goal of this setup is be a cheap ammo & non-restr. alternative to my AR15.

- started as an out-of-the-box, virgin Ruger 10/22 compact (this is my first 10/22 :p ). I chose the compact model for the resale value of the 16" barrel, but I'm currently thinking of keeping it.
- RB Evolution stock, with extra scout rail and 7" side-rail (fabsports.ca)
- 11.5" E.R. Shaw barrel, threaded (tacshot.ca)
- YHM Phantom 5C2 flash-hider, YHM angled 3-slot rail, Streamlight Scorpion & First Samco FAS-3 mount (Brightflashlights.com)
- BC steel lip mags (damn.. so many stoppages; around 1 out of 8 rds fails to feed... is there any mods/lubing/whatever, before going to Tac Innov mags ?)
- Magpul CTR stock
- Midwest Ind. QD sling swivel mount (Brownells)
- Home-made single point sling.
- Ergo ambi sure-grip (Brownells); top part was cut for fitting in the Evo stock.
- Tuffer buffer (tacshot.ca)
- Rock Mount 6-9" bipod in Larue mount (Socom supplies), alternating with a front vertical grip in ARMS #17 DR clone.
- Various sights pictured: Troy flip-up front battle sight, ARMS #40L rear sight, Docter optic clone in ARMS #17 DR clone, Leupold Mk4 3.5-10x40mm M1 clone, or Aimpoint clone (last 4 items by 1337tactical), in true ARMS #22 high rings & #22M68.

And now for the range report : LOVE IT !! Very nice accuracy :D solid build, great ergonomics.
See pic below. Keep in mind the following:
- these were the very first rounds in that receiver and barrel
- all internal parts are factory stock
- crappy ammo (Eley practice)
- Stoppages from the BC SL mags, thus changes in firing position.
- last group at 25yards shot after the "last call" at the range. so it was shot very quickly.

Nice setup :) I just got my evo as well and waiting on 6 pos stock. Hope it looks as nice as yours.
Im sure the mags will loosen up for you after a while. Leave the mags full with 25 in them overnight etc....

That looks nice, especially with the flip up sights. How did you get that grip to fit, did you have to cut some of it off? How accurate is that barrel at 100 meters.

Would you be kind enough to give a brief run-down on your home-made sling mount?

Nice looking set-up.

Following prices are really approximate... w or wo tx+shipping; can't remember exactly. most components were bought new.

- 10/22 compact : 280$
- RB Evo stock w extra rails: 350$
- 11.5" barrel + YHM FH: 250$
- Magpul CTR, buffer tube, ergo grip: 200$
- two Butler Creek mags: 60$

So, for the basic setup shown, it's about 1100$.

For all the other goodies pictured (sling adapter, bipod+ LaRue mount, red-dots, scope and ARMS mounts), add at least 450$.

although it looks expensive when summed up, it's not that bad when built progressively... ex. by purchasing about 250$ worth of components per month. That's the fun part of custom builds.

It sounds like you did alright Sniper1. It gets a lot more expensive when you buy a bunch of stuff you decide not to use. I'm going to have a lot of "rejected" parts (optics, scope mount, barrel, handguard) to resell once I'm satisfied with my gun.
