My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

Got er done yesterday. Re read the rules after my first post. Sorry about that.

Ruger 10/22, 18" GM SS Bull barrel, Weaver T36, Tundra stock, trigger by me
Caldwell Rock, Protector
Lapua Standard Club

393, 207, 488, 379, 425 Ave = .378
The 488 is a bit close for comfort!

Glad you were able to do it. Nice shooting. I added you to the successful list.

Anschutz 1710 D HB, with a Leupold FX-3, 25 X 40mm scope, from Caldwell rests front and rear. Eley Tenex. Group sizes, using .210 as my constant: .365, .297, .286, .257, .205. Average group size, .282. ETA: if, as suggested below, I use .220 as a constant, the group sizes are: .355, .287, .276, .247, and .195, for an average group size of .272.

Great grouping minimouse! However, should you have subtracted .220 and not .210?

Thanks, 15567 and rustysdream. I tend, by nature, to err on the conservative side. I've added the other figures to my original post. And a big THANK YOU to Underthegun for starting this thread and for sticking with it for so long!

I got this Anschutz 1411 about ten days ago. It came with its original 1413 stock, but I prefer the stock seen here for shooting from the bench. (Thanks, Gilbert)

It shoots very nicely.

Shot left to right: 0.388, 0.378, 0.273, 0.245, 0.276 average size 0.312

The scope is a Sightron SIII 8-32 and the ammo is Center-X.

As an observation, I shot a number of targets like the one above with this rifle with five sub-half-inch groups, some with SK Standard Plus ammo. But a few of my targets still have the occasional errant shot(s). Some folks have suggested that, at least for themselves, the only time they have errant shots is when their equipment, rifle, or ammo is to blame. When I don't shoot nice groups, I continue to have only myself to blame.

Finally did the challenge ! w:h:

I've failed to do it several times in the past by only one or two flyers out of 25 rounds.

Strangely I had no luck today with Lapua Center-X ammo which is, most of the time, his favorite ammunition.

Rifle : CZ 452 Varmint
Ammo : Eley Club ( orange box )
Scope : Leupold M8 24X40 AO
Setup : Adjustable front rest + rear bags

Groups :
.475
.462
.325
.439
.370

Average :
.414

Smallest group ( .325 )

Biggest group ( .475 )

Nice job. I will add you to the successful list.

Congrats to both of you. I like both those bench rest stocks on the Annie and the cz.

Thanks savagecanuck for the kind words !
The Pro-Varmint feels good, better than the factory stock.

Next step is to do it with my Anschutz 64 MS-R but maybe this will have to wait next year.
I haven't tried the Annie because I'm still not sure what scope rings I will buy/use.

You need high 11mm rings as the Annie is flat with no barrel taper. 1" are easy to find 30mm tough to find in Canada. I have bkl 30mm.

Finally! After trying all summer I have finally shot a submittable group! Although this was the 5 attempt after i had switched over to the boyds pro varmint stock

Equipment
Gun: CZ 452 Varmint 22lr(Boyds Pro Varmint with Adjustable cheek piece)
Scope: Busnell 6500 Elite 2.5-16x50
Ammo: Lapua Center-X
Front Rest: Vanguard Porta-Aim Tripod
Rear Rest: Primos Rear Bag

5 x 5 shot groups shot at 50yrds at Lloydminster Fish & Game Range

Bullet Diameter on Paper 0.197

Group 1
0.615 - 0.197 = 0.418
Group 2
0.605 - 0.197 = 0.408
Group 3
0.567 - 0.197 = 0.370
Group 4
0.506 - 0.197 = 0.309 (smallest)
Group 5
0.572 - 0.197 = 0.375
Average
0.376

It's always nice to see someone complete the challenge after they have been trying for a long time. Nice shooting. I'll add you to the successful list.
