My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

How am I just seeing this thread now. Dang, I need to spend less time in the politics section.

Will be attempting this with my mark 2 with bipod and scope as soon as I get it set up.

If I can't hit it with that, next up is the Annie. If the Mark 2 is easier then I think it will be, I can try my CIL 190 off hand with irons...

Just hope the wind cooperates.

some here have applauded my efforts--to those i say, "thank you!"

to the rest, if you can shoot better, do it!

Not I. You want the rules changed to suit you.

If you are not content with that then start your own group.

Just to see how many are willing to shoot at a scrap of paper with no aiming point.

If your theory is so relevant then fly at it but don't try to high jack this sight.

Good bye . . . Don't go away mad . . .

Been lurking on this thread since joining cgn. These are serious rigs.... and legit great shooters....I Have a mark2 set up as you described. (bipod/16x scope ect) Without the proper match grade ammo I think you'll find this all but impossible. If you can pull it off with irons I think you'll have a lot of people very impressed. But please try ,have fun and post your results for all us mark 2 users!

The CIL bit was mostly a joke.
My 1613 MIGHT be able to do it off hand with sling, but i probably couldn't. One day i will do it with the CIL 64 action just to show off how badly I missed it.

I came close with my 1813 with factory peep sights with real target ammo and a front rest and rear bag. I found it very hard on my eyes and neck trying to concentrate lining up the peeps with the target circle. Too do it free hand, good luck with that.

This thread has been going for almost 4 years now, and I haven't seen this much silliness over someone's post. If it continues, I will ask a moderator to lock it and call it a day.

No please don't !
Its one of the best thread in the Rimfire section...

And I also want to complete the challenge with my Anschutz this spring ;)

Pretty sure I can come close with my Anschutz 1613 with a similar rest and bag set up. I have no illusions about the CIL. If I could hold that grouping off hand with my CIL I would be off to the Olympics.

just need a warmer day to give it a go.

This is my hunting rifle, it usually wears a 2-7 leupold shotgun scope. Cleaned it and put a bit bigger scope on and did some shooting yesterday. Completed it 2nd target string out of 3, then did 2 strings of RWS Champ for fun. This seems pretty typical of its targets the odd .2, quite a few .3 and handful of .4's and one bigger one to get ya nervous which shooter error plays a part as I get a bit bored after 50-75 rounds.

With a lighter trigger and a proper rest/bench set up should be able to get a bit better I'd think. I have shot last summer with RWS Champ and was close a couple times.

Ruger M77/22 - all stock complete with factory super heavy trigger, north of 7lbs
Nikon Pro 5 4.5-18x40 mildot @ 14x
Center-X @ 52yrds - +6 and breeze L to R
Custom bench, chair and rest

.455
.315
.375
.495
.310 - AVG is .390

This looks to be the only Ruger bolt in the standings :dancingbanana: good to know it will shoot along with all the fancy Anschutz, CZ's, and Remingtons with big high mag scopes.

Good shooting, congrats on getting a Ruger on the list (I'm still waiting for a Remington 597, tried with mine, no dice). I'm surprised you used Center-X though, what happened to the magic CCI AR Tactical?

Congrats it looks to shoot with CZs, not in the Annie league though. It's good to see the first 7722 on the board. Lighten up the trigger and you would probably do even better. Got to like Center X in don't think it has ever disappointed!

Heading out tomorrow with the Mark II and the Annie. Hopefully at least one of them will print a winner. Just got to figure out how to post pics on the forum...

No need for pics just yet. Wind did not cooperate. Very twitchy. Neither the Savage nor the Annie were able to succeed. Both were able to blast clays at 100m though... :)
