My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

Thanks, gentlemen, for the kind words. I appreciate them.

The HW66 is from D&L, a Weihrauch airgun dealer. This is the first time that I'm aware of that they have brought in powder burning guns.

I went out today with the intention of coming close to completing the challenge. I did succeed in my goal, but not in completing the challenge. Out of my five groupings, only three of them were under 1/2". One of them was just under 3/4" and the other was 7/8".

It was a fairly windy day, so there's that going against me. I also realize now that I have the wrong scope. The Nikon 4-12 has its parallax set to 75 yards. Time to go shopping!

You're almost there, change the scope & you will soon be on the successful list. :)

It is possible to adjust the parallax on a non-AO scope! You just use a rubber strap wrench to crack the front ring off the objective, then use a thin Allen key placed into the revealed slots on the objective and turn it out anti-clockwise until you are parallax free at 50 yards. You must be ultra careful not to go too far and break the gas seal, so don't try setting it to 25 yards, but you're totally fine for 50.

Sounds risky... Anybody else try this?

Yeah, I've done it. No problems at all. I read how to do it, and had a Bushnell with a 75 yard parallax I wanted to set to 30-40 yds. Mind you it's a $100 scope at the most, I figured I didn't have much to lose.
Set up a target at the range you want to be parallax free, set the rifle on sand bags and look through the scope. Move your head side to side without touching the rifle. If the cross hairs shift you have parallax. Adjust the lens holder til the cross hairs don't move, lock it in place and you're done. I don't know what the limits are but I had no issues with mine. I think it took maybe a half turn to change it. Getting the lock ring to move will probably be the hardest part.
If it gives you real problems breaking it free you'll want to consider if it's worth possibly damaging the scope.

Congratulations. Those are excellent results, gonzales34. That is a great looking custom rifle and an excellent front rest and rear bag. The rifle and the shooter certainly work very well together. It's surprising this rifle hasn't sold since it was posted on the EE. I'd be thinking about keeping it as this thread doesn't see many rifles that shoot as well.

Actually I was going to take it off the sale forum last couple of days, just didn’t have the time to do it. I don’t wanna apart with such an amazing shooter...... I’ll do it now :)

Get well wishes from Vancouver, grauhanen. The smell of burnt powder in the morning is the best medicine. Keep shooting! And please post a range review of your HW66.

I looked up DLAirgun's website when I saw your post with the rifle's picture...looks like they're out of stock. Perfect companion powder burner to my HW97Ks.

Great shooting Gonzales34. I added you o the successful list on the first page.

My Ruger 10/22 modular takedown will produce slightly less than 1" groups at 50 yds with Winchester bulk 40 grain ammo.
I'm sure it could do better with Eley or Lapua ammo but too expensive.
1" @ 50 yds (1/2" @ 25 yds) is good enough for 'partridge'.

I have two .22LR long guns and am getting rid of 1 of them as part of a general downsize operation.
The other is a Marlin 60 which doesn't shoot as well as the 10/22.
Soon to appear on a used gun rack at the LGS.

My range has been closed since June 18. Today, after 73 days, it finally reopened. I took to the range a rifle I've been itching to try out. It's a 1962 vintage Anschutz 1411 barreled action that came to me with a stock that's about 10 years newer. I felt a bit rusty, but the rifle, almost as old as me, did not disappoint.

The ammo is SK Rifle Match.
Distance: 57 yards.

First target, left to right: .438, .398, .417, .332, .271 average size .371
Second target, L to R: .471, .466, .363, .260, .328 average size .378
Third target, L to R: .374, .423, .466, .396, .276 average size .387

The rifle and scope, a Bausch and Lomb 36X with a BKL cantilever mount (the rifle has dovetails on the rear of the receiver only).

Doesn't look like there's any rust on ya at all. You must be thrilled that the range has reopened, but you didn't take the 54.30 out?? Of all the guns to be itching to try, I'd have really thought that'd be it. I'm still struggling to hit the 1/4" club with either my cz or anschutz custom. Been so close a number of times, would love to see what your 54.30 can do.
