My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

i've been shooting at 100 for a couple weeks and a prolonged period of calm days has been appreciated. I decided to return today, another calm, humid, and very warm day, to another attempt what's been proving to be an elusive goal, the 1/4" club. This morning i had three five group targets where four of the groups on each were under .25", with a fifth spoiling the overall result by being over .25". One was a little better. It's taken a while to achieve five consecutive groups under 1/4" each.

The targets, including the one below, were shot at 57 yards.

left to right, .230", .182", .206", .248", .152". The five group average was .204".

The rifle is an anschutz 1913 br 50. The scope is a sightron siii 10-50.

Congrats on joining the elusive 1/4” club. Great shooting.

After cataract surgery I passed the test. Anny 54 and sk+ black box rest and bag. With sk+ brown box groups were more vertical and only 4 of 5 made the sub .5. That could be shooter error. The black box was noticeably tighter.

The rifle is a Cooper Montana Varminter with a Sightron SIII 8-32 x 56 scope.
Ammunition is Eley Match Biathlon with a published velocity of 1085 fps. The rifle's accuracy group from factory was shot with Lapua but not known which one. Everything tried gave poor results and all attempts produced at least one group that exceeded 1/2". Experimented with every velocity from 325 - 330 m/s.
Eley Match invariably threw a flyer.
This outing almost failed when a wind correction was not needed . . . the second target.
I also shot with Eley Tenex Biathlon, Velocities of 1053 and 1091 fps. One group at 100 yards was under one inch. At 192 yards, the TENEX produced a 2.11" and a 2.80" with wind flags at 25, 50 and 100 yards.

Groups c-c: .374, .480, .236, .121 and .423 for an average of 0.3268.

Good Job Grey Birch!! There is often one group like that that scrap our range day, may be also the reason we return again and again ;-)

congrats.
