Well..it's done. Just have to bore site the scope and build a load for it..

The beginning..

As I bought it for $95.

With the Richards Microfit laminate stock...

After I got it back from the gunsmith.(blue Mountain Sports) He rebarrelled it, drilled and tapped it for a scope and turned the bolt handle for me.

I modified the safety on it to clear the scope then changed my mind and put a timney trigger on it..which makes this safety redundant.

Here it is now..action is bedded using devcon metal puddy and I refinished the barrel and action using moly based flat black gun kote.

the shiny spots on the bolt is oil..

Al that is left is to find a load it likes. A buddy of mine shot a 2 round 4" group at 600 yards with his yesterday..

Looks good. The stock is not my cup-o-tea, but to each his own. Good luck finding a load.
Thanks..the stock is a bit "space gun" looking but it was $69 US...couldn't pass it up and I wanted a thumb hole left handed..
A buddy has some rounds loaded that work very well in his 6.5..it's a good place to start from.

I'll be the first to say it...you could have restored her to complete military configuration again :D.

At any rate, I hope she serves you well in her new capacity.

Sighhhhh, you could have at least done it in green. Slowest build, ever.

My OD green gun kote is reserved for goofs trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear! :p

My buddy took it out today to try some loads. (I was working)..he got a 2" group at 200 yards. Looks like we are off to a good start.
