It's one of the DPMS/CMMG 14.7" AR's from Questar. I wasn't expecting it until Friday. :D I'll be trying it with an Atchisson .22lr kit Thursday at the indoor range I go to, then I'll have to look at the local outdoor rifle ranges, like Abbostford or Ridgedale, so I can REALLY use it.

How oily should the internals be? The entire insides are pretty much soaked in oil. Should I remove most of this? Just oil the components that make contact and move?

I cleaned it quick enough to be able to go tonight and shoot it. I shot it at a 20yrd indoor range with an Atchisson converison kit, using Black Dog Machine mags. Out of 160 rounds 4 or 5 shells jammed, one of which required plyers to remove. Other than that it shot fairly well for having a poor barrel twist for the .22 round. Not like my Winchester or CZ .22 rifles, more like my pistols with .22lr converison kits. I got a couple "What is it??" reactions when I first pulled it out of the electric guitar case I used to transport it. Fun stuff, now to join an outdoor range and shoot the .223. :D

Congrats.

But yeah start dressin'er up

I already got a RDS, 3x magnifier, QuadRail, Grip, 9 mags, Ammo, VLTOR stock, And getting a rifle case this coming friday... and I dont even got my AR :p

Time's a wasting :D

Very nice! Now it's time to accessorize!

The only accessories he needs is ammo and mags. Learning to shoot with A2 sights is very useful, more so for the 14.5 carbine. Defiantly will help. Buy whatever stock pistol grip or hand guards you want and a VFG but I'd recommend practicing with the A2's first before moving to a red dot or optics.
