My AR-180CAP -> Central Alberta Pimps!

Here is a picture of the "Type 3 Prototype" stock adapter on Josh's gun. It will look better on mine as the RIS means you need a higher cheek weld so the stock will be the perfect height. Besides looking good it should combat muzzle climb.

nice pics guys I like em!, hmmm I think I like that type 3 better - I'll need to see a full rifle pic with the type 3 to know for sure.

d4 where did you get your collapsible.? how much $ did you pay?

I also inquired about the new rails by midwest - they said they will not ship directly to individuals in Canada... I pushed to say that the pieces of metal were inert and safe to ship for my "robot" however Troy at midwest said DPMS was probably the best bet as he can;t export these directly. - wierd - what did he tell you Armedsask?

Hey Stormwerkz, if you want to broker me a set of those rails for a nominal fee send me a prv msg - I might need you to build me a one off sight wheel... . plus you can have a first hand look on how to improve the design on those rails :D

now an update about my sight: I was second guessing myself tonight that I may have royally f'ckd up.

not news to some you - I completed the bolt hole by adding a plate extension with some metal epoxy maybe a 1/4 inch., and while I was checking the clearance I forced something I shoudn't have and broke the piece I epoxy'd on. I thought that #### was supposed to be the cats ass when it somes to adhesives....

so there I was back at square one and started playing with other ideas. to my surprise while playing with the pieces I realized that I hadn't full seated the bolt where it should have been thus the reason it would pop out. A smaller bolt diameter in the middle than on the end...

I put the sight together exactly the way I took it apart and it all held securely - this was because the bolt has a fat ridge near the head of the bolt. It now all fit! and held in place on its own as If I hadn't cut anything...

I found a block of acryllic and simply milled a new sight turn wheel I pushed back the pin hole that holds the wheel onto the sight so that there would be ample pressure to ensure the sight thread would not turn unless turned by a human. (pressure fit)

so alls well ends well except for the fact that my 180 B now looks like its wearing a diamond earing. Its UV reactive acryllic so in the sunlight it might look cool 8) .

If you all want a good laugh I could post the pic. It won;t stay like that for long I will have one milled out of aluminum and have my buddy anodize it black.

You'll get about 3000psi in tension if: you mix it right, you prep the surfaces right, it's a good epoxy. In peel you get about 300psi. Shear is somewhere in between. Do the math on the number of square inches in your application and you'll find out that epoxy needs a fair bit of surface area to have useful strength.

By comparison, typical steels are around 125000psi.

I haven't contacted him yet, been busy. Sound slike it might be easier to just get some one else to import them.

Why do you keep talking of DPMS, are they the dealers or something? Isn't TSE the DPMS importer? Maybe they could bring some in.
