I finally ended a quite long journey into setting this baby up. This journey came after an even longer one.
I first started like any other caster who won't take time to read and read and read again from other people experience and bought a Lee bottom pot. It was many moons ago when I was casting heavy sinkers for my other addiction which is fishing. Soon I had to buy a second Lee as the first one crapped. The second one lasted a while but eventually ended crushed by my own hands with the help of a sledge hammer.
Next was a Lyman bottom pour. Good machine. But soon after I got curious about the RCBS promelt. The last one is an awesome thing. Both Lyman and RCBS served me really well but for some reasons I liked more the RCBS. I sold the Lyman and bought two more RCBS. Yes, I'm a hoarder.
But then I've seen another machine that took my breath away. I was smitten instantly and it took me a while till I got it as I was always on the road working and it was always some other toy I had to buy. Long story short I bought my dream machine and I couldn't be happier. In manual mode casting 500-700 bullets a session without back pain, mess or sore hands was what I was dreaming of. I love the feeling of manually casting bullets. It's so rewarding and joyful every time I pull that handle.
But then I got curious and kinda greedy and wanted more. I soon realized the potential of the machine and how much time I could gain by doing other things while the thing would crank by itself bullets without me to touch it. Well, I don't regret the decision at all. It costed me time and money but is all worth it now. The joy I feel watching the machine have no price.
I like to keep my life quite private and with not much advertising of any kind but I thought I'd share with some of you who are reading this section on CGN. There are tens of thousands members here but just few of them are into molten lead and dirty hands.
OK gents, this is my slave. No pay, no raise, no union, no complaining of any kind. Just feed it lead and it will work for me. I hope you'll enjoy few minutes of "no hands on" casting bullets. The video is not public as I uploaded as "unlisted" so only people with a link can see it. No advertising as I said, just sharing with other addicts some aspects of our common addiction.
