In the early 70's my Father and I shot the Starr D/A and the '58 Remington Army----at targets.
The Remington was more impressive than the Starr D/A.



I still have a supply of black powder and balls.

Today--- I am not inclined to shoot my Civil War guns.
I also collect Civil War swords---bayonets.

You clearly haven't been reading enough internet forums. None of those pieces have laser target indicators, Picatinny rails, or collapsible stocks. They aren't tacti-cool enough to bother with. Let me know where to meet, and I'll bring some SKS', Chinese spam cans of ammo, and a couple of MOLLE equipment vests for trades. Deal?

Very nice collection, I only have reproductions but I love shooting the rifle-muskets in particular! It is nice to see someone with a lot of passion for what they are collecting.

I like the i il war revolvers as well.When I lived down in the states for a year I had one of the Lemat revolver replicas and loved playing with it

Slightly off topic but with your interest in Civil War firearms, have you ever been to Gettysburg or Antietam? Amazing historical sites very well maintained.

In answer to your question--big boar.

It is Fred Wilkens not Wilkins.

Frederick R. Wilkens, retired assistant principal, Smithfield, Va., on March 3, 2007. Wilkens was assistant principal at the middle school in Farmingdale, N.Y. He was an avid collector of Civil War memorabilia and was president of the Antique Arms Club of Long Island for more than 20 years. In 2006, Wilkens moved to Smithfield with his wife of 53 years. He also is survived by two children and five grandchildren.

He died on March 3 2007 at age 79.
