Anyone who runs non magnified holographic sights on their SKS who might be having zeroing issues or those who have yet to get a mount but want one, I highly suggest the SKS Scout mount from*hotlink removed I think it is the best option for anyone looking to run no more than just a red dot, it is by far the most rock solid mount yet in my opinion. The only down side is that because this mount is so small you are limited to compact holographic sights only and if you must run a full sized scope then it is not the mount for you, you'd be better off with a Magwedge Kwik rail or a Chaote receiver mount. The great part is that once you acquire this mount and a compact red dot, it is just a perfect setup. Another bonus is that neither the mount (or any part of it) nor the optic itself needs to be removed for cleaning. Once it goes on, it stays on and will not hinder the use of stripper clips. This mount comes with 2 set screws and a roll pin and replaces your rear iron sight and leaf spring. If you do ever purchase this red dot mount I advise to put a dab of grease on the screws before you put them in as the threads are extremely fine and very tight (but very strong). Without grease it'll be easy to cross the threads. You'll only need to use grease once. Here are some pictures of my completed SKS build. Archangel style.
