I just wanted to put it out there that i have a big fat hard on for a .22 MP5.
I know of the whole GSG-5 issue in Canada, but what about the H&K?

i'll have an orgasm on the day these become legal here. I'm very sad that my only options to get an MP5 looking gun in Canada is to go airsoft or Umarex BB MP5K. Thats just not satisfying.

Well if a clone made by another company that shared zero parts was prohib i am pretty sure these would be....

buddy of mine in edmonton here is a gunsmith, and has designed, and is making a mp5 type firearm based on the .22 platform. His firearm is interactive with the ruger 10/22 mags. He just has his prototype at the RCMP FRT, and is hoping to start mass production soon. Dunno about the final cost yet, but i would guess its in the $1000 ballpark. Nice. Kudos to your friend for that. it feels still a little distant from an actual MP5 look, but a nice gun nonetheless.

What ever happened to Blue Line "fighting the RCMP" about the GSG-5 being deemed prohibited? I sent a few inquiries to them and all I get back is "no new developments". Are they the actual importer of this firearm or should we ask North Sylva on this? That was going to be one of my dream guns and the lack of info is frustrating!

i asked again today actually, same answer, no new development. And i believe them, appealing a such a decision takes time, you gotta go through the court system and all.

Yes they are the importer. But there's only so much they can do. It is my dream gun too, but i doubt we'll see it on the shelves any time soon.
 
IMHO the krinker plinker is pretty dam close....close enough for me anyway. Otherwise best of luck to ya finding something closer in Canada

i just want a goddam MP5 in .22....no derivatives...

Yeah the GSG5 crap really annoys me. I think it has to do with copyright infringement more so than anything else. (makes ya wander how Norinco gets in heh) I guess if you got the cash you can block anything.

1000$ is too rich for a .22 even 600ish is high imho.

But eitherway I'll keep checking on development.
