After looking at the price i think im going to go the fab defense route ($85 vs $285). Lots of other places I can spend that money where it would be more useful. I don't see GP tactical selling the hand grip for the fab defense hand guards for some reason tho?

They are $180 for the set or $80 for the upper, which is a limited time offer. After March they will only be sold as a set.

i think you got a pretty good deal, even if your barrel isnt chrome, your package new would have cost you over a $1000.

CZ858-2 non-rest barrel are not chrome, heres a test you can do, see #34 below.

No offense guy but that's a hard picture to take. I wouldn't count on that being accurate.

The real question is: What does it say on the gun?

(1) CZ-858 TACTICAL-2P
or
(2) CZH-2003 Sport

If it's number 1; it is not chrome lined. Period.
If it's number 2; it is chrome lined. Period.

I put real wood on my tac-2, and I love it. Sure, if I was fighting with the rifle I would put the resin/wood stuff back on (tougher, no heat transfer, not affected by solvents and oils), but the wood gives me wood. I have a NEA upper handguard and red dot (co-witness baby), but I love the wood enough to leave it off most of the time. I have lots of "plastic" guns, no need to change a classic!

Ahh, yea I got Fab defense handguards on the way.

Beaver puke is a nick name for the material the factory stocks are made out of. I think it's wood chips with some type of resin.
